if it's a couple of 16 year olds who did it, they don't deserve jail time.

With all the money he has, he couldn't afford an alarm on his house???

Wow 400k worth of stuff. Insane. You couldn't take my whole house with everything inside and have that much.

What the hell did they bring a moving truck and just back it right up in the driveway during the game?

The guy actually had a good game too, probably the best of his career. Something that validated his pick for once. And this is how he is thanked? That sucks.

yordad

Why? He had a good game. They could have at least waited til he had a bad game if they were gonna rob him. Sheesh.

By the way, that is a burglary, not a robbery.

$400K worth of stuff....or maybe they just stole a Rolex and 2 huge diamond earrings that total up $400K.

How much were those pair of sunglasses that T.O. bought in his show again?

$400K to us is ~10 years salary.

$400K to them is the pair of sunglasses they'll wear this summer.

Just disgusting.

i'm surprised this doesn't happen more often to be honest. not just out of buffalo but all NFL teams. You know exactly where they are....that's they'll be gone for the day. And in a declining economic environment, it just stands to get uglier.

Is Derek Shouman connected to The Shouman Shield in anyway? Perhaps he can hook the team up with some discounts while he's on the mend.

If you're talking $400,000, you aren't talking Rolex. You're talking Vacheron Constantin

Who (aside from rich people with staff) keeps 400K worth of stuff IN their house? If you've ever wondered why NFL players end up broke after their careers, look no further than this story.

If you have 400K to blow, it should be invested. But, not in the stock market, haha, maybe in gold/silver, and of course the ubiquitous alternative heating source for when the power goes out.

Jewelry. Okay, you could maybe make an argument it was "precious metals." But, unless they're in a safe they aren't preserving your wealth so much.

How does he not have a security system set up in his house? Especially if you're going to dump hundreds of thousands of dollars into jewelry, security is a MUST. Plus, having ADT or another security system lowers your mortgage rates, I'm pretty sure or it may be home insurance. :idunno:

If you keep that much around the house what is he doing without a security system.

JD

He was asking for it with no security system in place. Sucks, though.

another sad day following a Bills game..

security system or not... this was an inside job IMO..

I'm sure he has insurance on it...

Looks like things have gotten pretty ugly in Buffalo these days

Stock market is fine if you know what you're doing - which none of the players do. Stocks pay you dividends, which buying gold and silver will not do. Players should have a financial adviser who invests for them in U.S. stocks, bonds, money markets, and foreign stocks. If you want to invest in gold, silver or other precious metals you can purchase a 'precious metals' index fund. With the large amounts of money these guys are making, all that matters is that they're well diversified.

I'm guessing most players are too busy buying jewelry and cars to do this.

Maybe Russ and Ralph went to get back some of the money he's stolen from the Bills.

Didn't he offer to let McKelvin stay with him? Maybe it was an inside job!!

Wait, McKelvin likes giving things away, not stealing them.

Actually, buying gold is a great way to diversify your portfolio. The value gold has steadily went up over the last 20 years, plus it's a fantastic way to limit the risk of inflation destroying the net worth of your monetary value. Gold has value in many different cultures and civilizations globally.

So buy shares in a gold index fund.. it'll have the same effect

Back on topic, it was probably Ralph Wilson trying to get back some of the money Whitner stole from him. :snicker2:
