No thanks on Runyan. He will bring down the athleticism of the line. Bring in a zone blocker for depth. Keep Scott as starter.

The other options are bringing back Walker or Damion McIntosh.

Runyan is better than Scott, and while he might not be as athletic as Butler, he is a hard nosed, and smart veteran. Who will play smart and at least pass protect better than most.

Runyan is a horrible pass protector. He is a bigtime run blocker but in pass pro he was weak. And that was before the injury.

Also, the toss play has been huge for our offense and having a slow footed RT will make that play and the screen less effective.

Not going to bother with insults.

If you have an argument, make it.

I'm not going to argue with someone who says Runyan was a terrible pass blocker. It's pointless.

                It's a well documented issue.

Strahan loved going against Runyan because he was guaranteed 2 sacks a game.

FL I don't see what is so stupid about Mahdi's statement. Prove him wrong. He seems to think he would be poor in our line scheme.

I can't say I have heard Runyan was a HORRIBLE pass protector but I do know his strength was in the run game.

Check where Runyan is on that list. Not official, but still shows he was not good in pass pro as you claim.

A RT that gave up 7 sacks allegedly, in the NFC East and has to play the Giants and Cowboys pass rush twice a year?

might not be that bad really...

Actually, it shows that he's not "horrible" like you claim, but thanks for proving my point for me.

Pretty sure he was near the bottom of the list.

And its interesting that him being near the bottom of the list proves your point and not mine.

                              Sound logic right there.

You know, you could at least be honest and admit that you overvalued his pass protection rather than claim that I proved your point when that is clearly not true.

The truth is he is not horrible in pass pro but it is certainly not his strength, and he does struggle with it. What is also true is that he is coming off injury, was never athletic to begin with, and he is old.

Our line is built on speed and athleticism and I dont see how he fits. Scott is very athletic and has done well in preseason and filling in for Butler yesterday. No reason why he can't be our starter.
