Re: Official LEHL Discussion Thread!
I'm very pleased at my draft- I just need a tough guy or two.
My lines-
LW Kovalchuck C- Spezza RW- Gaborik
LW Nash C- Briere RW Claude Giroux
LW Heatley C Dubinski RW Backes
LW Clowe C- Sundin* RW Hemskey
D- Rafalski/Gonchar
D- Corvo/Jovanoski
D- Francois Beuchamin
Goalies - Nabakov, Emery, Osgood
Sundin was cut already. Stupid auto-pick took that one. Waiver wire pick TBA
My breakdown- I should be called "The Clumpys" because I'm heavily tilted to the left wing. Kovalchuck, Nash, Heatley, and Gaborik could garner 150-200 goals if all stayed healthy.
Because I'm stocked with snipers, it allowed me to take some chances on oft injured but highly productive guys. Briere and Gaborik are huge in the risk/reward category. Giroux is another calculated gamble- he's the next "breakout rookie" and could put up 25 G 35 A and decent power play points
In goal, because of my vanilla draft position, I went with vanilla goalies. None will post big shutout figures and will have average GAA's- but they should combine for 150 starts and close to 100 wins. If Emery flops, I'm still OK with the other two.
Defense should be decent with PPPs, assists, and +/-. Don't need a lot of offense from these guys, and I might make some moves to get more PIMs back there.
Best categories- Goals, Assists, PPP, GWG, SOG, Goalie wins, Saves
Worst- GAA, Shutouts, Save %
Average- PIMS

Re: Official LEHL Discussion Thread!
BTW I'm a wheeler-dealer and will consider any trade.
But don't send me ******ed offers. Give me something I could use. I'm looking for a top 10 blue liner, a good center, will consider an upgrade in goal if you have a glut of solid goalies.
Also looking for a goon with good offensive numbers
I have potentially 3-4 of the top 6 goal scorers in the league and decent (not spectacular) goalies to offer upLast edited by Dozerdog; 09-22-2009, 06:43 AM.

Re: Official LEHL Discussion Thread!
I looked at my draft and it does not look good. It was weird how the players were ranked IMO. I tried to switch up a bit and as a result got several goaltenders who should put up a lot of wins. I think I have a couple decent blueliners too. I will be looking to trade.

Re: Official LEHL Discussion Thread!
My goalies are rough after Mason, who isn't even guaranteed to put up numbers like he did last year. That worries me.
BTW: I set this league for keepers since my other two 'Lake Erie' leagues are, but we can change that if people want. I would suggest making that decision before the season starts. I'm just not sure if everyone who joined would want to keep this going. Of course, if there is only one or two people who don't, I can easily replace owners at the end of the season.

Re: Official LEHL Discussion Thread!
I loved getting the first pick in terms of having Ovechkin on my team, but it really screwed me up since I couldn't pick again until the 24/25 spot. At that point I had to decide whether or not to take my goalie (Miller) or hope he slides. I should've known in a Sabres fans league he would get scooped up early.

I have 4 goalies“You hold a players only meeting and get each guy to stand up and say what he can bring to the table... and if he doesn't, you punch him in the face.” ~~ Harry Neale, on how to fix the Sabres season.
