The Bills are collecting cell phones for the Hopeline program, which helps victims of domestic violence.

My wife helps coordinate phone collection for this program here in VA and it does a lot of good, plus it will help you recycle those old phones and get them out of your house. If you have any phones that you are no longer using, please bring them to the game to donate.

for newer ones, Verizon refurbishes them, sells them, then donates the profits to the domestic violence shelters.

For older ones, Verizon gives the shelter a small credit for each phone then recycles them.

Verizon most likely loses money on the deal, but I'm sure they get a tax write-off for it, plus goodwill in the communities.

and FYI they don't have to be Verizon phones- they'll take anything.
