Sabres sign Mancari, send 7 more players to Portland

Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have signed forward Mark Mancari to a one-year deal. The forward has been assigned to the Portland Pirates, the team's American Hockey League affiliate, pending waivers.

Regier also announced that Jeff Cowan (F) and Joe DiPenta (D) have been assigned to Portland pending waivers. Jhonas Enroth (G), Philip Gogulla (F), Marc-Andre Gragnani (D) and Felix Schutz (F) were also assigned to Portland.

the guy has been called up how many times....he is a wanna-be, never was...Jody Gage burned up the AHL for a decade...total bust as a NHLer.

He has been called up twice and played in like 2-3 games, had a goal too plus as a 100mph slap shot and is only 24, he also changed positions his first yr in Rochester from D to W
at 6ft 3 225lbs plays tuff in front of the net
but i guess he sucks since he hasnt been able to replace the Ruff and Regier Love fest for Hecht, Ellis, Mair, Max when he was here
im just saying cant hurt to have size and a nice shot on the point for the power play

the likes of Mark Mancari are not going to push the Sabres to the playoffs.

so ur ready for the season then?
the same team as last yr?and the year before that didnt make the playoffs?
sorry man just thought a guy that is offensive minded and big would be a nice change in getting him in front of the net and he has a booming shot
also why do the sabres keep bringing him back then if he sucks?
oh yeah cause he is the leading goal scorer in the AHL affiliate every year
