Bills Getting What They Paid For at OT

Lost among the catastrophe that was the Buffalo Bills offense Sunday was a potentially key injury. Starting left tackle Demetrius Bell left the contest in the second half with a strained groin. This comes after battling a sore back all of training camp and the preseason. While the extent of his injury is unknown we’re likely to get an update from Dick Jauron sometime this afternoon. Kirk Chambers finished the game at left tackle.

If Bell ends up missing any game action it forces the Bills to start Chambers and Jonathan Scott next week against an angry Miami defense off to a 0-3 start.

Didn't even notice Chambers was out there. Did notice Bell was out there from the Bills very first play.

1st and 10 at BUF 16 (9:58) (Shotgun) PENALTY on BUF-D.Bell, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at BUF 16 - No Play

Yeah.. You can call them cheap or not, its a matter of opinion.

But its pretty universal these OT's are not good enough to play, let alone start in the NFL.

As I stated, its only about to get worse with this schedule.

Bell has potential; the others do not.

I dont have a problem with the OL.

For the first time in 5-6 years we are opening holes for our RB and the pass protection is being made to look incompetent by the incompetent play of our QB.

Winning franchises go out and get a stop gap to try and keep from falling apart, not throw other teams cast off bums like Jonathan Scott at RT and sign a project for depth

            IMO.

A lot of the holes that are being opened as opposed to past years is defenses having to account for Evans and Owens on the field. Though TO hasnt done squat other than the one catch, if nothing else he's at least making defenses respect the pass.

The middle of our OL played great first two weeks (God awful yesterday)

But Bell has been been a penalty machine this year, and Scott was exposed for two sacks (and a penalty) yesterday.

We're week at OT, and Chambers and SCott starting (if Bell ends up being out) is a joke.

The middle of the line showed it's inexperience vs NO. Hangartner and Wood got owned for the majority of the game. There was barely a pocket in the 2nd half, as their DT's were constantly blowing up Buffalo's middle. If nothing else, it's a learning experience.

We have growing pains but I am not that down on this OL

how many 4th downs have we converted this year ?

how many 4th downs did we convert last year ???

One crapper shouldn't have us throwing this OL under a bus. I actually like a lot of what I have seen.. but New Orleans definitley exposed our lack of experience.

look at the bright sinde. Our young OL get needed playing time and Jauwrong will be fired for not getting us another 7-9 season...

but I still like our OL now better then last year...

I'm not throwing anyone under the bus, I'm just saying that they played like garbage.

Great post. No one is stacking the line because of TO. If I were the Bills I'd dismantle the "no-muddle" offense and go with Lynch and Jackson pounding the ball and throw McIntyre into the mix. Why do we have a FB on the roster if we are not using him?

If Bell is hurt for a few weeks, maybe time to give Meredith some PT. He also has potential like Bell.
