    Couple Interesting Stats

I'm a little worried about Trent's style of play. Although I can agree with checking down in principle, I disagree with WHO he's checking it down to.

I'm happy with TO, Lee, Lynch, Fred, and Nelson

I'm not happy with Fine, Shouman, Reed or anybody else.

Get the ball to players that can do things.

That said, here is an interesting list of QB's this season with a LOWER yards per attempt average then Trent.

    19 Carson Palmer CIN QB 56 93 60.2 31.0 615 6.6 205.0 4 4 34 36.6 44 6 1 7 76.2
    22 Tom Brady NE QB 87 142 61.3 47.3 871 6.1 290.3 3 2 47 33.1 36T 6 0 1 79.9
    22 David Garrard JAC QB 55 101 54.5 33.7 618 6.1 206.0 2 1 27 26.7 34 6 0 5 75.4
    24 Kerry Collins TEN QB 58 105 55.2 35.0 630 6.0 210.0 4 4 33 31.4 69T 6 2 5 69.9
    24 Brett Favre MIN QB 61 94 64.9 31.3 566 6.0 188.7 5 1 30 31.9 36 5 0 9 94.5
    26 Matt Cassel KC QB 38 57 66.7 28.5 331 5.8 165.5 3 2 18 31.6 29T 3 0 5 84.8
    26 Matthew Stafford DET QB 55 103 53.4 34.3 598 5.8 199.3 2 5 28 27.2 64 9 1 5 57.0
    26 Seneca Wallace SEA QB 41 67 61.2 22.3 388 5.8 129.3 2 2 19 28.4 39T 4 0 3 74.7
    29 Byron Leftwich TB QB 58 107 54.2 35.7 594 5.6 198.0 4 3 27 25.2 47 7 2 2 71.2
    29 Chad Pennington MIA QB 51 74 68.9 24.7 413 5.6 137.7 1 2 27 36.5 21 3 0 6 76.0
    31 Brady Quinn CLE QB 45 74 60.8 24.7 400 5.4 133.3 1 3 21 28.4 26T 3 0 10 62.9
    32 Marc Bulger STL QB 35 68 51.5 22.7 339 5.0 113.0 1 0 17 25.0 45 2 1 5 70.6
    32 JaMarcus Russell OAK

yes, Tom Brady, Brett Favre and Carson Palmer have lower averages per attempt.

I think things will click soon. TO is a new guy on the team and as we said it'll take time to get things going. I think our interior line is going to be dominant by the end of the year, I think with Lynch back we can run the ball like the Cowboys.

NOTHING is a better friend to a shaky, inexperienced oline like a team that can, and will, run.

I bet we break 200 yards rushing this week, and I expect 200 yards and 2 td's from Trent.

This is what I think we'll see against Miami

    Bills 28
    Miami 14

    Trent - 65% 250 yds 2 td
    Lynch/Fred - 200 yds, 2 tds 10 receptions
    Lee/TO - 175 total yds 1-2 td's

If we win in that fashion will we be positive or negative next week? About Trent and this team? If we're at .500?

i'm ok with reed getting the ball. he's our most sure handed receiver and is the only guy to catch a pass in the 15-25 yard range. he is the only WR we have that edwards goes to consistently on 3rd down. if only we didn't consistently have penalties.

theres a reason hes checking down to those guys....BECAUSE THEY ARE THE CHECK DOWN GUYS! If he threw to TO and Lee it wouldnt be a check down because they are running routes! And he HAS been checking down to Nelson (when he was in) and Jackson.

I didn't look into it much, but that's a misleading stat. Yards per attempt is also reflective of your completion percentage. I'd rather see a yards per completion ranking.

It's not ranked for that stat though, plus it's hard to do all of the math while you're at a clients facility using their interweb connection and checking the zone when they're not looking.

Besides, aren't you a Browns fan now? You're in Cleveland like everyday and go to every Browns game... Go buy a Jamal Lewis jersey.

Someone has to say it1-2 Theres only one stat that really matters. All the others are fun to look at when you win games.

                  Yards Per Completion

                  C.Palmer - 10.98
                  T.Edwards - 10.68
                  T.Brady - 10.01
                  B.Favre - 9.28

a wonder what 30 seconds and a calculator can manage

My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.

                  MY WIFE SAID THAT!!!

why aren't you happy with Fine Reed or Schouman ??? makes little sense as they appear to be doing exactly what they should be doing.

You said it yourself get the ball to the guys who can do things... The Reeds, Fines, Schoumans etc... are supposed to find the underneath stuff and be there as an outlet... The entire problems in our #1 and #2 guy are aren't being trusted by Trent to make plays. Trent simply does not feel comfortable to make these plays to our playmakers...

Right Now Evans and TO should both have close to 15 catches each minimum. Once they start making 5 + catches a game the Reeds Schoumans and Fines will be even more capable of eating up the underneath stuff
