EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New Jersey Devils center Joe Nieuwendyk didn't participate in practice on Monday and said afterward it's too early to tell whether or not he'll return to the lineup for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals against the Anaheim Mighty Ducks on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).
"I wouldn't say there is a lot of change. I'm hoping that one of these days it's going to come around," he said. "We'll just see how it is tomorrow morning, maybe I can get out there on my skates anyhow. It's a little early to make a game decision."
