I'm currently listening to AM 610 WIP out of Philadelphia... and the current host (Howard Eskin) has Mark Lawerence on, who is a sports handicapper/insider. He is making his picks for pro and college. Anyway, Howard asked if he had any info on any coaches that are on the hot seat. Mark said Gary Kubiak is in big trouble if Houston doesn't make the playoffs, and "Dick Jauron is a dead man walking".

For whatever it's worth.

Mark is off the show now... but Howard and the callers are chuckling about T.O. saying they think he is washed up.

sounds good, but how would a sports handicapper know?

I don't know, but Jay Glazer of FOX started off as a sports handicapper. This guy Mark Lawerence has been a fixture in the Philly area for a long time with WIP.

Mark Lawrence is one of the big time handicappers. He's a guy with connections around the league. I used to buy his annual publication, but betting on football is a nasty, nasty habit.

If you listen to his pressers, he's a dead man talking.

good, the media brining more and more attention to our craptastic HC is about the best thing we have at getting Ralphies attention. He sure doesn't listen to the fans

like i said who is there to hire?

none of the "big names" are all that appealing and/or willing to come here

i'd rather jauron stay the season then have some interim joke and let all of our players lose out on an opportunity to show what they can do in a full season without totally ripping the carpet out from under them

Does anyone know anything about this Lawrence guy? Does he really have connections? It's good news indeed, if true- I just don't want to get too excited about an unsubstantiated rumor.

The time to clean house was last off-season...might as well just ride this one out, don't expect any changes until late in season, and hope for better next year.

That's true even in the glory years...
