    I hate OT hockey

    I've said it for years...leave it end in a tie. The OT sucks. All it does is allow a team to be mediocre and keep it close the entire game and then win it in OT. Montreal is 2-0 and haven't led one minute of a game yet.




    For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.

    The Sabres should have never let it get to OT...they look entirely like the same team I've watched for the past 2-3 years. Lazy, and not really a hard working team. This was not an encouraging first game and it does not make me feel comfortable about this season.

          Yes they have. They lead at the end of the game and that is all that matters. I like OT hockey but I don't like the 1 point for an OTL or shootout loss.

                I think OT hockey is exciting. I hate it when the Sabres allow OT because a) it's too easy to lose in sudden death and b) even if they win it gives the opponent a free point.

                  i strongly prefer the current format for reg season games. ties super suck and im all for exterminating them

                  but as long as we are doing that we should do it right. the 3-pt win system eliminates all the problems associated with playing for 1-pt tie, which dramatically improves the product imo

                    I don't like ties. I'm not especially a fan of the shootout, but I don't like leaving a game as a tie.

                      I like OT way more than the shootouts.
                      I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
                      "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
                      You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
                      It was all                       true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
                      He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can                       mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
