All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Count me in as one of the people that loved the way the Sabres played following the lockout. They had a high powered offense that lit up the scoreboard at a record pace. They were also winning games and made it to the conference finals two seasons in row.

Look it's not the Sabres offence, The NHL said when the lockout was over that they were going to let the players play meaning skate end to end without any whistles, take out the clutching and grabbing of the jerseys and eliminate the trap style of play. That suited the Sabres to a T!
What happened was that fans of the old NHL and Don Cherry, Pat Quinn Colin Campbell and the other dinosaurs of the league wanted the old NHL back to the way it was before the lockout with the clutching and grabbing and the trap. Pat Quinn then at the time as coach of Toronto said that the new rules that the NHL were a joke and Don Cherry said on Coaches Corner on HNiC that he was right. Quinn was then fired by the Maple Leafs.
The NHL had no choice they had to go back to the old rules or they would lose the old time hockey fans that grew up watching the original six teams play Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, Boston, New York Rangers and Chicago now we are stuck with 2-1, 3-2 etc. hockey games instead of 9-8 games.

Umm, Clutching, grabbing and the trap were not part of old time hockey, or the original Six.
The Fans were leaving because their Long time trap facilitating teams were sucking balls against the new rules and the coaches were not smart enough to train their teams in training camp on how to take advantage of the new rules, so back to the firs point, they sucked. and the fans and team offices blamed the new rules instead of coaching and players.
