Green Bay - Defensive end Joe Johnson of the Green Bay Packers might face a fine for a drug arrest but apparently is not subject to suspension, according to a source within the National Football League.
Johnson was arrested Thursday in Tifton, Ga., and charged with possession of marijuana. The Journal Sentinel previously reported that Johnson had violated the league's substance-abuse policy on at least one other occasion when he was with the New Orleans Saints.
In normal circumstances, a player is forced into the substance-abuse program after a first violation, fined after a second and suspended for four games after a third violation.
