What do Peyton Manning, Pasadena and a Carson landfill all have in common?
They all have been rumored as possibilities for Los Angeles in 2006.
Manning and the his Indianapolis Colts teammates are the flavor of the month because of what owner Jimmy Irsay is attempting to extract from the city of Indianapolis. Much like San Diego, Irsay is attempting to get his city to compensate his franchise for revenue shortfalls. At the current rate, the Colts could be seeking an additional $30 million handout from Indianapolis over the next two seasons. The amount is based on what the Colts believe is necessary to move them into the middle of the pack financially among NFL franchises.
