View Full Version : DirecTV question for the Sabres/Wings game tonight

The game is on Versus, and I don't get that on my package for Directv...but I do have the center ice preview until the end of this month, so will the game be shown on one of the center ice channels tonight and NOT be blacked out?

Please help, I'm trying to decide where to watch the game tonight, and I'm a new DirecTV subscriber and was wondering if anyone has run into this issue before?

I would say the only people who can confirm this would be DirecTV customer service.

Nope. It is not on. I called last week and asked and they said no game on versus will be shown on the center ice package by the local stations so we are SOL.

I don't have DirecTV but from past experiences with being a CI subscriber, any game on VS, NBC, NHL Network, are blacked out on the CI package.

Vs. has exclusive rights, the game will not be on DirecTV at all. Luckily I'm in class the whole time anyways, so it didn't really matter for me.

I don't have DirecTV but from past experiences with being a CI subscriber, any game on VS, NBC, NHL Network, are blacked out on the CI package.

And before people start dissing the NHL or whatever, every league works the same. Any game on ABC (NBA) or FOX (MLB) also are blacked out on the packages. I'm a Cubs fan and get extra innings and on Saturdays when theres 3 games on FOX, i get Mets/Yanks (for example) on local fox but the "other" market Fox games like Cubs/White Sox, Angels/Dodgers... are blacked out.

But is he in the "local" market since he is in Rochester? I don't know if it is the same for hockey at it is in football.
