do you think has most attributed to what this team has become.. obviously it has been a comedy of errors that have all lead to this.. but if you had to pick one event that was a turning point for this franchise what would it be??

Re: What one event..
#1: Polian leaving
#2: The unceremonious axing of the SB-era stalwarts prior to 2000 (Bruce, Thurm and Andre)
#3: The benching of Flutie for Johnson in the playoffs (homerun throwback was sort of a karmic retribution for the above flubs)
#4: The hiring of Marv as GM
What do all of these have in common? They all point back to Ralph.

Not extending John Butler
Even after Polian left, there were still good football minds here like Butler and AJ Smith. Adding a mind like Littman was all that was needed.
That led to the hiring of TD and the mess that has followed.Originally posted by mysticsotoLecter is right in everything he said.

Re: What one event..
The hiring of TD i would guess. TD was clearly not the architect of the steelers. he was there for the ride. and ralph got suckered by it. and now he uses that as an excuse for everything on why we can't do anything. Meanwhile the stadium is sold out every game. and he's debt free. cry me a river ralph.
