not sure if the number of first rounders really makes a difference. it means your probably fielding an expensive team.

the bills could have 15 first rounders too, but if they were all like the people we've brought in, we'd still be dead last.

we don't have a single first rounder right now that i wouldn't mind seeing leave at the end of the season. that includes evans and lynch.

Off the top of my head, we have Maybin, Wood, McKelvin, McCargo, Evans, Lynch, and Whitner. Don't remember, but wasn't Stroud a 1st rounder, too?
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Just off the top of my head I get six first rounders:

          Maybin
          Wood
          McKelvin
          Lynch
          Evans
          Stroud

I forgot Whitner. Stroud was a first, so that makes 7.

                Re: 5 1st round picks

the problem is not first round draft choices...

the problem is a last place owner mentality.

McKelvin is on IR so maybe he doesnt count?

We aren't trying to reconcile to any official number. By my count, we have 7 first rounders active and 1 on IR, for a total of 8 under contract.

Maybin, Wood, McCargo, Evans, Lynch, Whitner, Stroud and McKelvin (IR)

This is one of those stats that just has no relevance to anything. The number of players selected in the first round currently on the roster means nothing. 50% of first round picks turn out to be nothing. I dont mean to be "that guy" But i hate whn people throw out meaningless stats like this and make them seem to be something there not. (especially when they don't even have the facts straight.)
