First-round draft choice Dewayne Robertson and his agent dined Tuesday night with New York Jets officials, ESPN.com has learned, and the two sides will commence face-to-face contract negotiations on Wednesday morning.
Agent Hadley Engelhard flew to New York on Tuesday afternoon, after several telephone conversations with Jets assistant general manager and chief negotiator Mike Tannenbaum over the past couple weeks, and discussions are expected to escalate to a substantive stage fairly quickly.
