All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
After squandering their first this year on a speedy wide receiver? Doubtful.
I dont think Lee is the problem to be honest with you. Its not his fault he is never thrown to, and if he is it is three yards from the line of scrimmage with tight coverage.
If I did it would be out of pity for him...such a waste of talent.
In all seriousness, no. Next season if things play out right, we'll need his leadership with hopefully an overhauled and young roster. I think he'll be fine with some new coaching and a new QB.
No. Our front office is mediocre at drafting players, so there is no guarantee that whoever they drafted would be useful, much less as good as Evans.
Once again, we have a ton of holes; I'm not sure why some of you insist on wanting to create more by getting rid of the few players on the team who aren't awful.
Also, like someone said before, he's virtually untradeable due to the fact that he is very overpaid.
"Miami played pretty damn good today and still got their ass kicked."
noone will take the trade after he signed that big contract.
Don't be so sure.
His contract really isn't that bad after this season. In 2008, he signed a 4 year, $37 million extension. In '08, his salary was almost $12 mil, with another $3 in incentives that he probably didn't reach. The rest of his salary looks like this:
2009 - $9 million
2010 - $5.4 million + $3 million roster bonus
2011 - $3 million + $1 million roster bonus
2012 - $3 million + $1 million roster bonus
So if a team trades for him after this week's game, we'll have paid him $3.375 for the season, while the other team will pick up the remaining $5.625.
So the team that trades for Lee would get him for 4 years, $22 million. That's not very much at all.
What will Evans get: 800 yds 3 TDs. Plug in Hardy, Johnson, Reed. Try to keep TO. We have cap room, Breaston, Vincent Jackson, Antonio Bryant are all Free Agents.
