The move is a few years old... with practice, any kid could do it. He probably eats, sleeps and studies hockey. Nice goal nonetheless.

I saw an interview where they asked him how many times it had worked in the past and he said something like it only worked once in thirty times at practice.

That move is incredibly difficult to pull off...and is especially impressive because he was skating while doing it.

umm, kids were doing this years ago..., i can do this... and more, its only good in the shootouts.

on the kids defense, I was NOT able to do this at 9 years old though.... hell no...

There are very few players who can do that while skating...it's not that easy...

kids were doing this decades ago when i was playing youth hockey (no i wasn't any good)

there is just 2 things noteworthy about this...

1) he did it in an actual shootout, not practice
2) he's 9yo

other then that. not too special.

you know a kid that pulls this off in a game is perhaps the biggest jerk of his 3rd grade class.

Impressive that it was a kid, but it's a gimmick and an "allstar game" move. You shouldn't be doing this during an actual game.

There are very few players who can do that while skating...it's not that easy...

Grow up playing in Canada - it's more common than you think. Notice that TSN and people in Canada are not clamouring over the video like hockey homers in Boston.
