Season-ending injury for Jenkins confirmed

Now 1-3 since winning the Super Bowl against the Patriots in Week Two, the Jets got another humbling piece of news Monday.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that nose tackle Kris Jenkins will indeed miss the season with a torn ACL. Jenkins has already been placed on injured reserve. PFT wrote Sunday night about multiple reports that Jenkins was likely out for the year.

Jenkins' play in New York hasn't always been consistent; he's occasionally as dominant as any player in the league. Sometimes, he's merely good. But as a quality nose tackle in a 3-4 defense, he's among the toughest players to replace in the league.

Rex Ryan, who has enjoyed having Haloti Ngata and Jenkins in his last two spots, will have to get creative to make up for Jenkins' absence the rest of the season.

The Jets and the playoffs don't seem like a likely couple now...

That's really a bad blow to them, hate to see someone go out that way... I like beating teams when they at their best...Jets will use this as an excuse the rest of the season..

I actually didnt think the Jets would make the playoffs this year. Of course, I picked the Bills to finish 10-6. so... :idunno:

According to Pat Clifton, a source close to the situation has indicated that a Glenn Dorsey trade to Atlanta could very well come to fruition this weekend and the Chiefs would receive the Falcons 1st round pick (#24 overall) along with their third round selection (#90 overall) in return.

Jets may enter the sweepstakes. I dunno

Dorsey has not shown anything to get a 1st and 3rd.

His weight has been an issue i believe.

Isn't Glenn Dorsey close to being a fat, lazy bust?

Actually, he's not mobile enough to even be a 3-4 END.

he's a 4-3 DT all the way.
