Just another reason there should be no hockey in the state of Florida.

I was just about to make the same comment. In the Northeast, people go to hockey games to see HOCKEY. We don't need gimmicks like "Star Wars Night" to get people to show up.

As a Sabres fan, I can't stand Philly, Boston, Pittsburgh, NYR, NYI, NJ, Toronto, Montreal, or any of their fans, but I at least have to respect those cities and their fans for their appreciation of hockey.

Once you get south of Philly, they consider hockey a Canadian thing and no one really understands or likes it (except transplanted Northerners). Baltimore doesn't have an NHL hockey team because they were smart enough to realize that no one gives a ****. Places like DC, Carolina, Nashville, Atlanta, Florida, etc pretend to care, but their fans don't understand the game and don't show up unless the team is a virtual lock to make the second round of the playoffs.

When a Southern team struggles (and by "struggles", I mean 6th seed or lower), they have to resort to gimmicks just to put asses in the seats. It's embarrassing.
