I just put a poll up and running and want input for a future column.

Question: If you ran the Bills, which potential 2010 Free Agent would you most want to sign?

Why not? He's a great dtWell, I like this quote

getting him would kind of be like....... say if i took a dump, scooped it up in my hand, and then proceeded to eat it. yeah, that bad.

Marcus McNeil,

This team is in desperate need for an offensive tackle. I'd vote QB but I don't think Orton is a "franchise" QB.

Wilfork and Stroud is very intriguing though, and I'm a HUGE Kyle Williams fan. Not sure how to feel about that.

That was my rationale. Well that and I couldn't bring myself to root for Wilfork. Merriman would be hard too.

My rationale is that the offensive line has absolutely blown since an average starter like Brad Butler went down. With another year of experience for the younger guys in addition to adding on a solid starting OT, this line might be pretty good.

Merriman is a risk with all of the suspensions and a possible injury problem. Wanting Wilfolk is like hoping you get the swine flu.

Sadly enough, Ralph's too cheap to sign any of those guys.

I voted MArcus Mcneal. Our O-line is the biggest reeason for our mediocrity on offense..

Wilfork---If this we're a business for me then i'd vote for Wilfork. BUT IT'S NOT! So as a "fan" i hate him because in the two games against him every year he always comes through with his dirty tactics..
-reason 2.0 He is about 5-7 years younger then me and attended my local high school. He was an annoying Jet fan an so overweight that everyone was soo surprised that he was a football player, let alone a "elite" football pl;ayer on his way to "The -U- "...
---forget reason 2.0. As a Bills fan i can't stand the guy. There's no way i'd want the extra dimension he would obviously bring to our D.. I also didn't ever want Lois Oliver, Terrell Buckley, Brock Marion, Curtis Martin, Keith Byers, Larry Izzo and all the other past talents who we're Bilsl slayers/division whors etc. Wilfork -pass and i respect everyone who also passes for reasons of pride.

thomas howard is a perfect fit a LB for this team...we need a coverage LB and he is one of the best if not the best in the NFL. No chance he resigns in oakland either...

with that being said ...well prolly offer him 8 dollars an hour for 6 years, so the chances of him signing here are highly unlikely...well just sign a bunch of geoff hangartner type guys and suck again as long as this clueless ******* master PR man is the GM

Had to go with Mcneill. It was always going to be a lineman, and just couldn't bring myself to get Wilfork. Have to say that Daniel is still a guy I wouldn't be unhappy to see as a Bill though.
Merriman is too risky - he no longer seems to be able to stay fit, and I think all the injuries have started to catch up with him in respect of his play.
Orton isn't a desperately bad QB, but his success is much more off McDaniels coaching and system. We don't have that in Buffalo, and goodness knows what we will have next year as a coach.
A good OT, a good DT and a good TE will be able to get a job done for any coach.

BAsed on a little over 100 votes right now, McNeil has a decent lead..

In all honesty Pat, if there had been another good DT available than Wilfork, I think the results may have been closer. Wilfork isn't the most popular of players in respect of Bills fans.
