    Kennedy...

Gets too close to the goal when he shoots.

I think Lecter mentioned this as a team issue in the first few games when the whole team was struggling to score, but Kennedy is the worst offender. He always tries to stuff the puck in around the goalie's left side, and even when he approaches from the front he waits too long to let the puck go.

The kid has some moves and he can create opportunities, he just needs to get a faster trigger.

i think pominville is the biggest culprit of getting the puck in too deep and taking a ****ty angle shot..

Kennedy is really good along the walls, though. He is able to hold onto the puck and work it along the boards playing keep away as the Sabres cycle.

He definitely has some skills- he just needs to work on shooting faster and giving himself better angles.

I don't disagree at all. As Op said, I think more of the team was doing it earlier in the year.

This is speculation, but crashing the net like he is might be a new task for Kennedy. It might take him a little while to get the proper angles and positioning down, especially at the NHL level.

The good news is that heis throwing his body in there and being on a line with Grier, who is not nearly as skilled but has the ability to get the proper angles, will only help.

The kid has skills, but he's stuck playing with two mediocre offensive players in Hecht and Grier...you can't overlook that fact. Yes, he does seem to like to play from behind the net and he needs get himself into more space to take better shots, but I think he'll be fine once he plays with some more offensive players.

I'm starting to wonder if he'll last the season up here. I don't see anything that special in the kid other than his salary and he is from Buffalo.

how have you thought about kennedy's play, bucky? he seems to turn the puck over alot in our own zone, unforced errors, etc....i mean he does have 2 or 3 points, but what about gerbe, mancari, and tyhose guys....any chance theyl;l swap spots with klennedy>?

11:29 Kennedy is a better all-around player than the prospects you're thinking about. That's why he's here. Kennedy has played well, in my opinion. He doesn't look at all out of place. He's had a few giveaways, along with everyone else. He's going to make mistakes while he finds his way. But he plays with an edge, loves carrying the puck and is very good with the puck. I'm more impressed with his play away from the puck.

                      He's into a Do-It-Yourself mode...

Here's how that line can score, Send in Grier to Check everyone on his way around the net, and have Hecht Go behind Grier and Fan on a Few Fake passes, then have Kennedy Drive the net 1 on 1 with the Goalie...

Amazing coast to coast goal from Michigan State's Tim Kennedy.
