Now, I think we need to try and get a top guy because that is this team's biggest need. Sorry left tackle enthusiasts, but we don't even have a QB worthy of protecting at this point. We can also get a left tackle in free agency (McNeil), rely on a more experienced Bell or take one in the second or third rounds (Anthony Davis, Jason Fox, Sam Young, Chris Scott).

I would throw every and anything at a team with the 4-6th pick in the draft to move up. We need "our guy" and until we get him, we will continue to lose and lose and lose.

And our guy is not Tim Tebow or Jake Locker thank you very much.

I completely disagree.

There is little point in choosing a Qb if he spends his career horizontal.

Orton has done well in Denver because he is being protected by an elite LT, whilst Ryan has Baker, Brady with Light, Schaub with Brown etc.

There is no guarantee McNeill will be available and if he is, it is because he is considered a huge injury risk.

Outside of QBs, starting LT are the most important and difficult players to find.

Davis does not have the feet or pass protection skills to play LT in the pros, Fox, Young and Scott are not in the Top level of prospects.

In both 2008 and 2009, QBs dropped whilst OTs rose. In 2008, there were 7 OTs in R1 compared to 2 QB, in 2009, 4 OTs compared to 3 QBs. QBs such as Brohm and Henne considered potential R1 picks dropped.

We are likely to be picking too low for one of the current top guys as the Browns, Rams, and Redskins are all likely to go QB as might the Raiders. Both the 49ers and Seahawks have 2 Round1 picks to move ahead of us.

Assuming Clausen, Locker, and Bradford are Top7 selections we will have to give up a huge amount or massively reach if we stand pat. Or we can have a Losman situation of going with the 4th guy whilst the 5th guy taken 2 rounds lower (Schaub) was the better pro.

It is likely the Bryan Bulaga or Bruce Campbell will be around where we are whilst by standing pat in R2 may well bring us Tony Pike or an underclassman like Snead, Devlin, or Mallett etc

Unless we want to risk all and give up a second or third we might have wanted to use on the likes of a Davis or a Fox, we draft a prospect and leave them with risky protection
