The Bengals continued to pare their roster and create potential salary cap room by releasing four veteran players Tuesday.
Cut were linebacker Canute Curtis, center Brock Gutierrez, defensive end Eric Ogbogu and fullback Mike Green. An early estimate on the savings is $1.1 million.
The moves put the Bengals between $1.5 million and $2 million below the salary cap; that number includes projected salaries for remaining draft picks. A cap cushion is maintained to cover injury settlements, salaries for practice-squad players and performance incentives.
The team's first-round draft pick, quarterback Carson Palmer, is already signed.
