1000% no. It's even more ******ed than what Dick did today.

I'm curious, for those people who say "No", what estimate do you give for the percentage chance of the Patriots making just 2 yards? I give that a REALLY high percentage.

Simple.

Worked out= Good call
Didn't work out = bad call

It's mathematically impossible to be more ******ed than Dick.

how can you say yes when that decision cost them the game??

By the way, if they make it, everyone says "Look what a genius move! Why don't we have a coach like that?"

Hindsight is easy ... if they had made it, would your opinion change?

It should go without saying that people who vote here should put themselves in the Pats' shoes at the time of the call.

name one other game where a coach called that call? up 6, on the 32, 4th and 2 against an 8-0 team, w/ 2 minutes left, and you go for it. name one other NFL game where that happened

It's about maximizing your winning chances. My claim is that he made the decision that gave him the highest percentage chance to win the game. Judging it based on "they lost" is invalid.

but maximizing your winning chances is kicking it 50 yards and letting Manning have to go 60 yards to score instead of 30.

the percentage is kicking it without question

Its not like peyton was killing the pats. He was making some bad throws. But You could look at this two ways.

1) BB has to much confindence in his offense.

or

2) What does the pats defense feel like. The coach doesnt trust them to close the game out?

I disagree completely. I bet that going for it wins instantly at LEAST 80% of the time. I give Payton a higher than 20% chance of going 70 yards in two minutes, especially when he's playing well like he was in the 4th.

Rodney Harrison just said bill makes somes of the greatest calls but this was the worst decision and call he ever made in his career!

Their D was gassed. But... It was a dumb call. I'd still take Belichick as my coach any time. He is going to be right a lot more than he is wrong.

In the end, it didn't matter. He was going for the win right there. Indy made the plays when they had to and the Pats didn't. That was the difference.

Congrats to Indy. On to the Jets. Should be an interesting season.

No one thinks that the call didn't really matter? Manning was gonna drive down and score no matter if he started on the Pats 30 or their own 30. That's what Peyton Manning does. I think it was the right call, that's the only way they were gonna win that game.
