It's true. Dick Jauron fired. He was blindsided by the news. Got summoned to Detroit to meet with Ralph Wilson. And was kicked to the curb.

He couldn't have been that blindsided. Yesterday in his press conference he made a strange comment about how changes would be made, but he could only change what he was in charge of, or something to that effect.

well he blindsided us with his idiotic game day coaching, more than once. What goes around, comes around.

I don't have the animosity that you do for Jauron. He's a good guy, just not a good head coach. I'm happy with the move but there's no reason to wish misery on the guy.

Could he really be that surprised?

No animosity for the guy as a person- I don't know him personally and I don't know what kind of person he is. I just know that he's a terrible football coach, and as such he deserved to be fired. Hopefully he can move on and be successful somewhere else, but he was given chance after chance here and failed consistently.

He was too busy reviewing game tape to notice the pink slip on his desk.

He'll be in the NFL again next year. Guys like him seem to always get chance after chance. I'm just glad it's not with Buffalo.

i don't wish misery for the guy. this was actually the humane thing to do. The guy was getting ripped apart, week in and week out. It's like a manager leaving a pitcher in after he just gave up 20 runs in one inning and has zero outs. get to the mound and take the ball. Spare him the indignity.

And he leaves with a nice amount of cash as a parting gift. I think everyone comes out ok in this situation.

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE:

Not understanding the call, Dick Jauron just threw a red flag.

Since he can't make adjustments, he'll still show up at his office tomorrow like normal.

When told he's still fired, he'll get really mad and fold his arms.

I gave this move a Jauron-inspired golf clap.

How could he be blindsided?

The second that field goal went through the upright I told my visiting son that Jauron would be gone by Tuesday.

This is the end of the Marv Levy era, and none too soon.

Bill Polian was the best thing that ever happened to this franchise, and four Hall of Famers owe that status to him.

The second that Ralph's ego superseded that acknowledgment of Polian, our decade long misery was preordained.

Shouldn't we say a fake prayer for him? You know, like your mom did when you were 5 and you had to flush the dead goldfish down the toilet and she had to pretend like she gave a ****?

He would be a great DC, he just doesn't have the personality to be a good head coach.

What makes you think this? He was at the bottom of the league when he was a DC. He knows nothing about Def schemes and strategy. He runs an outdate scheme with smallish players. He would be an avergae and serviceable DB coach. That's it.....

DC coordinator....LMAO

as a DC, he'd be given players and not selecting players. he took those small guys and made them play hard and put the team in a position to win before either his offense or his coaching acumen decided to rip that win away from us.

DC coordinator....LMAOHis game plans have always been solid... we just never score points... and we crap out in the second half. He did a great job in Jacksonville, with and expansion team roster, that's what landed him the Chicago gig.

any normal person who ISNT DOING THEIR JOB and MAKES CRUCIAL ERRORS especially in a high profile / expectation job should be fired. NFL Is a tough biz, if you dont win and make the playoffs you get the axe.

If I saw dj in the street id spit in his face. I have no tolerance for losers. He was a loser with an insincere way about him. All of the pc garbage in his press conferences just makes him a no good liar.

that's a bit extreme. If i saw him, i'd say thanks for trying...good luck elsewhere and don't ever try to coach the Buffalo bills again. if Ralph does a Lou Saban, don't sign anything. Call me first and i'm going to talk you out of it.

This had to put Jauron out of his misery. I was at the game Sunday. After I threw my Edwards jersey at the Bills bench, I started ripping into jauron. Telling himto resign. He's an embarrassment...players were staring right at me. Then I suddenly stopped. I actually felt bad for him. Even though he caused me so much pain over the years, it's not his fault he still has the job.
