Yeah not the first mention but not a bad name either. I like Zimmer myself.

Can he bring Pat Williams, Jared Allen, Kevin Williams, Antonie Winfield, Chad Greenway, E.J. Henderson, Cedric Griffin, with him?

Also bring BF and AP.

it's a nice looking resume. he has been on a winning team at every pro stop. even his bengals stop was when they got to the playoffs. So the guy isn't a flash in the pan, plus he has HC experience. He might be someone to look at very closely. provided he gets the GM help that he needs.

I was asleep last night and didn't listen live, so I listened to it today. It was a damn good show. Sal is a great coach and it was nice to hear Darryl Talley's thoughts too.

Identifying a good potential head coach is extremely difficult. Some assistant coaches / coordinators just need to stay in their current positions, as they don't transition well to being head coaches.

Anyways, Dick Lebeau is probably a lifetime D-Coordinator (as far as I know). I don't think he will ever become a head coach again. Tom Moore almost retired this year. I'm not sure what his official role is with the Colts now, but he will never be an NFL Head Coach.
...

Anyways, the only name on this list that intrigues me is Leslie Frazier.

For those who crave a ring for their HC, Frazier has one as a player (on the 85 Bears) and as the Asst HC of the Colts under Dungy. So, there's that.

Perry Fewell would have a better defense if he could work with Winfield, Williams, Williams and Allen.

I feel like there needs to be another move if they want to sell some more tickets. 4-6 wins and a semi-unknown coach, proven or not, won't sell tickets like T.O. did.

What does the O stats in Minny have to do with Frazier though? Although being a good team with Chilly running the show is impressive.

Those are defensive stats, not offensive.

Oh.,.... lol.... then good stuff then.

Even though he won't have as good a DL to start here, he WOULD at least see the value in something like 2 anchor DT's and a better pass rush.

He may not sell as many tickets but he would not be a bad choice. Of all the proven former head coaches out there, the only one I would have absolutely no concerns with is Bill Cowher, and he is not coming to Buffalo (more likely Cleveland, if he decides to coach at all). With every other ring toting candidate you might wind up regretting what you wished for. Leslie Frazier almost got the Rams job and is regarded in the business as a guy very close to landing a head coaching job somewhere, and for good reason.

Tomlin had the same roster minus Allen in Minnesota and he turned out pretty good in pitt.
