I have a hunch. Let's see what happens. I think Holmgren is brought in as GM to run football operations, ala what Parcells is doing in Miami. Just throwing it out there.
Prediction: Holmgren is coming in

Re: Prediction: Holmgren is coming in
"Jim Brown, who is an executive advisor to the club, kind of spilled the beans at a luncheon yesterday when he told the crowd that Lerner was interviewing somebody right then for the job: "At this moment, right now Randy Lerner is meeting with one of the great football minds in this country," he said. "And if things work out, that person will come in to run the football side of the Browns." When someone asked if it was Holmgren, Brown supposedly said, 'You said it ... and I heard it.' "

I didn't come here to fight, I hate fighting. Life is way too short to spend it on fighting! Go fight with yourself, one of you will eventually win!

Re: Prediction: Holmgren is coming in
We all know Cleveland is interested. There are some issues there though. One, you have to deal with Eric Mangini. Cleveland owes something like $20 million to past GMs and coaches not on the staff. If you fire Mangini, you add to that. Mangini doesn't get along with everyone. So Holmgren will probably be encouraged to try to work with Mangini. Plus, with all of the back pay owed, that's less money to be offered to Holmgren.
On the plus side for the Bills, they have no head coach, so Holmgren can have the run of the place. Also, depending on what Dick's buyout ultimately is, he will be owed a heck of a lot less than what Cleveland owes its backpay guys. So if Ralph is serious about spending money, he probably can go toe to toe or beat Cleveland.
Also, if something really is going down today, then maybe Holmgren interviewed yesterday with Cleveland, and is in Buffalo today?Last edited by Mudflap1; 11-18-2009, 12:32 PM.
