I listened to WGR a bit before work this morning and while they weren't sure, it sounds like the act of putting Fewell in as the interim coach kind of bypasses the rule. I would think he would get a formal interview at the end of the year to make sure they don't get fined, but who knows if they are going after a new coach now.
Regardless, if it's a fine, take it. You hire the best man for the job. I would think a token interview is more insulting than just not getting one.
