All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Thurm... Brian Billick was a TERRIBLE coach. His Ego is enormous and he refers to himself as an offensive genius, despite haveing a terrible O for the entire time he was in Baltimore.
he rode the coat tails of Ozzie Newsome giving him a ton of talent to work with, and some great Defenses coahced by some great DC's.

you got six guys on the list. Gruden just signed another contract and said he wasn't going to coach. Fine with me there he's a good coach but not a good builder.
Shottenheimer said he wasn't going to coach again just yesterday I believe.
Cowher turned down an interview here from what I'm to understand.
That leaves Holmgreen and Billick. Don't really like Holmgren nor think he'd take this job. Call it lack of information if you want...but I have more information about these guys not taking this job other than BB and MH than you do they would even be interested.

All Cowher said was he wasn't going to interview now while the season is still taking place.
Guys, although these are all great coaches, can we all agree that they were all benefactors of a great GM/front office? Especially in the cases of Billick, Gruden and Shotty.
After much thought, and especially after hearing all the speculation that most of these marquee coaches would pass on a position in buffalo, I have begun to think that's its probably better if we pursue a candidate to fill our GM position first. A competant individual with a proven track record of assessing talent. I think it's been proven that coaching alone can only take you so far- you need talent. Talent alone, however, can get you MUCH, further. Are we to believe that Caldwell ( Indy) , Harbaugh (Balt), Payton (NO) and Smith (ATL) are all great coaches?? Most of these guys were assistants before being hired. And the common thread between these teams is that they are all LOADED with talent.
I am beginning to side with, perhaps, a minority of the fans that feel that they would rather throw money at a GM than at a coach. And from the looks of it, it does not appear we will have a choice since these A-list guys don't seem to want to come here. Do you really think Shanahan is worth $10M /year?? Really? His drafts haven't exactly been stellar. I'd rather offer $10M per to a Polian/Newsome-type candidate.
