Washington, Detroit, Tampa Bay & Seattle all have better teams than us right now, jmo.

Washington is vastly underachieving, they're about ready to get hot.

Tampa Bay is finally letting Freeman take the reigns and he has looked like a Flacco clone.

Detroit, which is my 2nd favorite NFL team. (my NFC team) Has Stafford who just threw for 5 TDs last week, he is looking like a gamer, they should win a couple more at least, plus their defense has some play makers.

Seattle obviously has better players than us, I mean no description necessary.

We could be picking in the top 3.

If we cant get Suh, Okung, or G McCoy we should seriously try to trade down. With a new coach and a handful of first day picks we could be in business.

We have wasted way to many first and the cupboard is bare. On a sidenote. Should we trade Maybin to a 3-4 team if we dont do the switch.

we smoked Tampa and it wasnt even close. Freeman is better than Leftwich yes but their D couldnt stop us either.

Washington is not about to get hot, they dont have Portis and Jason Campbell sucks.

Detroit...mehh maybe but I really dont think so.

I think Seattle would swap with someone to get home town guy Locker. They have an extra pick.

The 49ers have two 1st round picks but to trade down, you need to find someone to trade down with, and it maybe that no team would want to move up to our position.

I don't want us to do a Cleveland, and trade down accepting rubbish players as part compensation

There is absolutely nothing that can make me hope for the Bills to lose. NOTHING.

The draft is an absolute craps shoot, where losing in order gain a few spots is totally meaningless. How do the good teams (e.g. NE, Indy) draft relatively low every year and continue to prosper, while the poor teams (Detroit, et.al.) never seem to prosper, even when having a high pick every year?

When will people realize that having the top pick, or a top five pick, is not some magic potion that guarantees success?

It's not your position in the draft, but the quality of your talent evaluators. If we get better at it, it won't matter where we finish. And if we don't, it STILL won't matter where we finish.

Losing breeds more losing, and nothing else.

good thoughts Jan... and mostly true.. however, when your team is soooo amazingly poor, and you KNOW there is no hope of even sniffing the playoffs, then the only intrigue of for the season is the suspense of the draft... and then where yoiu pick becomes the only topic of discussion and its funner to talk about a top 5 placement then a 14th placement... nothing sexy about a 14th place pick... so while it is no fun to be a crappy team, crappy teams have no hope of a playoff discussion so the draft is all we got

good thoughts Jan... and mostly true.. however, when your team is soooo amazingly poor, and you KNOW there is no hope of even sniffing the playoffs, then the only intrigue of for the season is the suspense of the draft... and then where yoiu pick becomes the only topic of discussion and its funner to talk about a top 5 placement then a 14th placement... nothing sexy about a 14th place pick... so while it is no fun to be a crappy team, crappy teams have no hope of a playoff discussion so the draft is all we got
I understand your points, and you may be right from the standpoint of logic. But I'm a rabid fan, so logic is not part of my makeup when it comes to the Bills. While the losses don't bother me like they used to, I still cannot bring myself to root against the Bills.

Depending how deep a draft is, talent can be found anywhere. 2008, McFadden 4th, Chris Johnson 24th - who would you rather have?
