As it pertains to concussions.

A player has to be symptom free for one full week before he can return to play. It is rare that the NHL is the standard bearer on an issue, but they are here. All NFL players need base line tests and need to be at that level following a head injury before they return.

The risks are too high and the long term damage is too dangerous to mess around.

I heard the league was considering taking the option of declaring a concussed player 'game ready' away from the team medical staff and putting it in the hands of the league itself.

Might as well watch rugby or soccer then.

Should we give them little belts with flags also?
