Larry Quinn was talking about the Sabres last week when he uttered "Stanley Cup" and suggested they could win one in three or four years, correct? We all know the Cup only comes around here once every 24 years, and that's just so opposing teams can celebrate in our town and trash the visiting dressing room.
Quinn's mouth led him astray a few times during his first stint with the Sabres, so naturally you thought he was shooting from the lip again. You figured he was just raising the standards, creating false hope and pushing ticket sales for a team that did little more than float around the past two years.
