I figured I'd start this since we don't have a game this Sunday.

Currently I'm watching the Colts-Titans, and Fins-Pats.

Chris Johnson and Payton Manning, the two best football players in the league this year. And they're already showing it.

Ingtar33

well... i'm about to leave this Colts-Titans game... the Colts are on the verge of turning this into a Blowout.

but damned isn't Payton Manning fun to watch?

It looks like Washington is giving NO a game.. i might swap over to there.

What happened?

it looked like it was one of two things.

1) he was embarrassed by the horrible int he just threw and wanted some sympathy (on the bench)

2) he had a massive cramp of his quad while sitting on the bench contemplating his horrible INT he just threw.

I think it was probably number 2... but considering his past behavior i can't rule out number 1.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Jason Cambell is kind of getting a raw deal in Washington?

Ingtar33
12-06-2009, 01:23 PM
and the colts game is officially a blowout.

21-3 with time left in the 2nd quarter. Payton Manning is just a freaking machine. No QB in the league could do what he's doing surrounded by such an average football team.

-Vince Young is back in. Had to have been a "pulled pride" or a quad cramp

Jason Campbell is Trent Edwards. They're identical QBs. the only difference is Campbell has a line to play with (and a defense that isn't a complete joke)

OMG!

look at that wtf!

in the Washington/NO game, Redskins up 17-10... A redskin INTs Brees, returns it pretty far... has the ball stripped by a Saints WR, which is then returned for a TD, to tie the game. What a wild play...

17-17 tie off a wild play.

Ingtar33
12-06-2009, 02:14 PM
random thought.

Anyone else think the Christina Aguilera trying to sound sultry while shilling for Direct TV (commercial) is actually rather funny? There is this skanky ex-tinnie bop singer struggling terribly to sound smoky and sexy while a video of her in a catgirl suit in the background plays over some club song bopping in the background. I guess someone thought sex might sell direct tv too, but instead of sounding and looking sexy... it just looks funny and stupid!

lol

btw: the Redskins are torching the NO defense right now. if NO didn't get two massive lucky breaks they'd be getting blown out right now.

27-17 Redskins

I saw that- the Redskins take it to a new low.

BTW, just before that, Orakpo made a sweet open field tackle on Reggie Bush. And just after that, Sam Aiken scored an 81 yard touchdown.

I ****ing HATE watching players the Bills could have had succeed for other teams while the guys we have instead do nothing. For Aiken, you could make the case that he's benefiting from a better offense, but when it comes to Orakpo v. Maybin, it was just a terrible decision.

I don't know... Maybin looked like the better pure pass rushing end heading into the draft. Considering Orakpo isn't even playing DE sorta underlines that point.

I won't call Maybin a bust just yet. We all knew he was raw as all heck coming out. He definitely looks like he'd make a far better OLB in a 3-4 then he would a DE. So we'll have to see.

That said.. this Saints-Redskins game is pretty good. Apparently the saints are missing their top 3 CBs for this game... and its really showing, as Campbell is torching their defense.

Orakpo actually plays both- he had his hand in the dirt on the play I saw. And part of the reason he's playing LB is because the Skins don't have any other options at the moment, but the consensus here is that they'd rather have him on the line than playing LB. n

Huh? Campbell seems more mobile and has a WAY better arm the Edwards. He can make all the throws on the field. Dunno about identical.

Jason Campbell 2009 (11 complete games):
2357 yards, 65.2%, 7.19YPA, 12TDs 11INTs and a 84.6 Rating

Trent Edwards 2008 (12 complete games):
2699 yards, 65.5%, 7.2TPA, 11TDs, 10INTs and a 85.4 Rating

They're the same ****** QB.

no.. they aren't the same player (in style). Campbell has a better TE and a better line then Edwards. He also will look down field from time to time (though not much). I personally think Edwards would have thrived in Washington surrounded by what's surrounding Campbell.

Campbell is more mobile but has far worse pocket presence then Edwards. There is a reason they have identical stats. Their respective strengths and weaknesses (while different) basically result in the same overall result. He's had games just as bad as Edwards stinkers.

So... take it for what he is. a mediocre QB.

Tied at 30

Ingtar33

un-freaking believable end to this saints-skins game.

the skins bleed the clock drive down to the saints 13, then they miss a gimme 30y fg (which would have given them a 10 point lead with 1:40 left) Then they drive 80 yards in 30 seconds to tie the game.

the saints have a NE patriots sized horseshoe shoved up their backsides right now.

The actually were UNlucky on that play. The ref does not blow that dead they run that fumble in for 6 and games over right there.

Epic implosion by the skins today. They had this game locked up... and probably should have won by 40.

Yet they had three freaky turnovers (which resulted in 21 points) plus a missed 30 yard FG and they lost the game. Unreal.

watching the Midgets-Cowgirls game right now.

How is Joe Buck the top Fox announcer? He's like listening to paint dry. Then they match him with Troy Aikman who is even worse. Ugh. Manning might be my Fantasy QB but i don't think i can sit through this team's commentating.

Might flip over to the SF-Seattle... or Cleveland-SD game. Looks like Cleveland is actually playing football today.

On to the Vikings-Cards! (I think the Cards win this game)

he'll be a hard one... probably not a 1st ballot.

the trick is his career numbers will be really weak for the HOF... but you can't deny he's a good Qb. boarderline. i think the best argument for him will be Namath. Joe Namath is in the HOF... and has far worse numbers then Warner.

He'll probably get in... but it might take some time.

colin
12-06-2009, 09:31 PM
well, if he plays 3 more seasons he'll have plenty of yards, wins, TDs, and the 3 best production games for a qb in super bowl history. that has got to count for something

the Vikes have played no one this year (except for the packers... who've similarly played no one)... and it's starting to show.

i think the combined winning percentage of their opposition this year is something like 30-40%

so what do people think? indy vs NO in a battle of unbeaten teams?

i think it will be either cincy or SD @ indy for the afc championship.

in the nfc i'm not as certain, but whoever will lose in NO (huge atmosphere there if they have a home nfc championship).

i don't think NO can beat INDY, just because they are so up and down and brees historically has trouble passing against cover 2 type teams.

If indy wins the superbowl this year they should just make a bronze casting of Manning in january and induct him into the hall of fame on the spot.

That colts team is about as mediocre a football team you'll see... and Payton Manning is just carrying them right now in a way i've not seen a QB manage since Elway carried the 86 Broncos to the superbowl. And frankly... i am far more impressed with the job Manning is doing then i was with Elway in 86.

Wow I just looked at their schedule...I knew it wasn't great, but didn't realize it was that bad. Ouch.

My wife is a big GB fan and she's convinced that the Vikings are going to the SB. I had my doubts. Then again, she's beating me in both FF leagues, so I'm not exactly one to tell her she's wrong. :cynic:

I hate how people bring up the point of teams only winning because their schedule is soft.

You can only beat who you have to play.

Minnesota up until today has looked great every week.

No one's saying that's the only reason they've won. Pittsburgh has a decently easy schedule, but they can't beat KC and Oakland.

Pitt kicked them in the teeth. That's 5 games vs teams with winning records, and 3 wins, 2 vs the Packers, one vs the really overrated Ravens...

Cle 1-11
Det 2-10
SF 5-7
GB 7-5
St.L 1-11
Balt 6-5
Pitt 6-5
GB 7-5
Det 2-10
Sea 5-7
Chi 5-7
Arz 8-4

55-87 = 38% winning percentage

they have Chicago, Carolina, Cincinnati and the Giants left.

Baltimore may be a 0.500 team after this weekend, just like Pittsburgh is after losing to Oakland.

I think the game vs. Cincinnati will be the final tell-all. If they suck it up against the Bengals like they did against Pittsburgh and Arizona, then they'll make the playoffs but that's about it.

Maybe the Vikings looked good compared to the Bills, but they did not look like they did against Detroit, St. Louis and GB. Before the Arizona game Favre had 24 TDs to 3 INTs, averaging 8 YPA and taking 22 sacks (that's 2 per game). Adrian Peterson was averaging 4.7 YPA, but he had 3.8 YPA against Pittsburgh.

And against Pittsburgh, Favre had 0 TD's, 1 INT, 6.7 YPA, and 4 sacks.

Minnesota racked up a lot of yards, but Pittsburgh's defense still made them look pretty average at best.

the tackles getting banged up i think really hurt minni vs zona who always brings heat.

i also think the minni d is about a few super stars destroying guys, and an O that is creative enough can just focus on the lesser guys and pick them apart.
