Welp, there's another loss. I understand Miller needs time off sometimes, but after a shutout? Give me a ****ing break, Ruff.

Also... "Center Tim Connolly didn't finish Thursday's practice due to some hip pain."

That is actually a very smart move by Ruff.

“We took the number of games [into consideration], we took into consideration that Patrick knows some of these guys, [being his] former team,” Ruff said. “It’s a back-to-back, you can look at it a number of different ways. As a staff we decided to give Patty this one.”

also they touched on this last game in the Lexus postgame report on MSG Kevin Sylvester said
that he would rather see LaLime in there against a Western Conference team than an East Coast team. Four points against the Rangers is much more important to our playoff chances.

Until they get someone else, they have to run him out there. Running Miller into the ground in December really isn't the greatest option.

Lalime was expected to play one of the games in the back to back situation.

Playing against Chicago is the better choice.

For one, he gets the fresher Sabres team. If the Sabres are worn down tomorrow, they have Miller to lean on. Usually when Lalime gets the second half, he gets a crappy effort in front of him.

Two, losing to Chicago or getting a point and giving up 2 to them doesn't mean a whole lot. The game against the Rangers is far more important in the long run in terms of points possibly being given up.

Oh, no doubt the decision makes sense. I just wish we had someone better to put in there.

He had a very strong 1st period.

Hopefully he keeps it going.

Kaleta gets another reputation penalty...I guess getting punched in the face is a penalty.

Shut them out through 2, and I can't really blame him for that goal in the third...

The two leading scorers on the team scored tonight........

The two leading scorers on the team scored tonight........

one goal every 5 or 6 games isn't going to cut it from Vanek, and there is no reason why Stafford, Roy, Connolly and Pominville should be outscored by MacArthur.

So, S11, you got an explanation for this?

I agree Vanek needs to score more, but he did his job tonight.

I was shocked that Lalame actually place a decent game. Still, with that being said, I still get rid of him and bring in Biron if he becomes available...like is being rumored.

Great game by Lalime! Looks like his time in the minors helped him out. Let's hope he can keep it up for next weekend when he'll probably play again.

Lalime played great tonight and so did Vanek. There is more to his game than what shows on the scoresheet.
