If commissioner Goodell walks up to the podium on draft day and says the following thing:

"With the 6th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills select WR Oklahoma State, Dez Bryant"

What would be your immediate reaction?

That they may have just drafted on of the top 3 players available in the draft

True, but so did the Lions...had that work out?

Calvin Johnson? I feel like he's living up to his end of the deal. As Stafford comes along he could be the best WR in the league.

Umm...did you miss the other 3 misses? Rogers, Mike Williams, Roy Williams??? Just checking...

I think I would be pissed.

This is a position fillable, cheaper, and likely with higher immediate returns via FA. If we don't fix o-line or/and QB ASAP, the dudes rookie deal will be up by the time they are ready to thow him the ball.

I realize he is talented, but in this day in age, and with a decade of no playoffs, I would take into account the fact that my 6th rated player can contribute twice as much as my 3rd.

Drafting him, losing TO and possibly not draft another immediate starter could leave this team no better for next year.

Our passing game is anemic, and another WR isn't going to help.

QB, LT, LB or i'll be unhappy.

my reaction would be to campaign for the hiring of Matt Millen, because at that point it would be impossible to do any worse.

"It's obvious to me the Bills don't know what a draft's all about."

Dez Bryant won't be available at that pick first off.

Secondly, in this scenario, we'd snag one of the top guys in this draft.

How could you not be happy?

ArcticWildMan

Assuming that in that scenario all other top names are long gone, I'd be totally happy with the pick.

Evans is not a top tier rcvr and I'd rather grab what is an almost sure fire guy over reaching for another project player.

He is a fantastic player with a low bust risk. Id be pissed at first when we didnt draft a QB, LT or Suh. but he is a game changer.

QB, LT, LB or i'll be unhappy.

If they draft a QB at that spot I will be unhappy with the QBs available.

this team has to by pass the skill positions like WR in the 1st rd this year.

We would be better off trading back getting picks and loading up on DL OL and LB talent

Exactly! Yes, Bryant is a great player, but he is far from what this team needs to start getting better. It would suck that they'd have to pass up a talent like that, but I just couldn't see them drafting him.

We got a good player and the best WR in this draft...WOW a playmaker...

As usual, it's BPA vs. Need. If Bryant is far and away the BPA, I'd take him.

About what I expected. A mixture.

I obviously would be mad about the team ignoring our biggest needs, but at the same time I'd be very excited about adding a potential superstar. He's obviously one of the best guys in the draft.

I guess who goes before us would make a diff. If the QB we want is gone, the LT we want is gone and Dez Bryant is staring us in the face, I'd think we'd have to make the move.

IDK of any LB's in the draft that are worth where we're pickin?

Besides we don't know what defense we'll be running linebacker-wise.

if not a qb that would be the next best pick but a franchise QB would be better but dez is the real deal

Fair point about now knowing what defense we'll be running. I really can't say with a certainty who I'd want without knowing who the next coach will be and what they're trying to do on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Who won't contribute for the Bills for another 3 years. Just in time to replace Lee Evans as a cap casualty yet he might prove to be the #1 WR that Lee has never been. Either way I don't like it.
