Just saw a sportscenter update. Chris Henry jumped in the back of his truck after arguing with his fiance.

She drove fast and swerved a bunch of times throwing him from the truck.

He has major head injuries and is in critical condition.

Some people are saying the media in Carolina are saying he has already died i guess.... but i haven't seen any real proof of that one.

I had heard he had really changed since his last suspension and cleaned up his act a great deal.

Chris Henry is on life support

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on December 16, 2009 7:07 PM ET
Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer has confirmed with the Bengals and Charlotte police that wide receiver Chris Henry is still alive following a serious car accident Wednesday.

A fake Twitter account led to multiple outlets from newspapers to major sports and news blogs to repeat the information that Henry had passed away.

The fake account purported to be by a NFL reporter, but it clearly is a fake.

Still, the news around Henry is not good.

Alex Marvez of Fox has reported that Henry is on life support (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/121609-Bengals-Henry) and his injuries are described as "dire."

We previously passed along reports (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/12/16/henry-has-life-threatening-injuries-after-domestic-situation/) that Henry's injuries were "life-threatening" and came after a "domestic situation."

Not looking good.

other than some media, probably not much... Henry will be off limits in the Neuro ICU.

Also.... since i deal wit this at work all the time.... if he's on life support but NOT in surgery, that'd be a bad sign.

NFL Star Badly Wounded in Truck Mishap (http://www.tmz.com/2009/12/16/chris-henry-cincinnati-bengals-seriously-injured-car-accident-fiancee-north-carolina-/)

Chris Henry -- a wide receiver on the Cincinnati Bengals -- is fighting for his life after falling out of the back of a moving pick-up truck earlier today.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/12/1216_chris_henry_truck_bn2.png
Police tell TMZ Henry had been involved in a "domestic situation" with his fiancee, Loleini Tonga, in North Carolina, when she tried to leave her home in a pick-up truck. Cops say that's when Chris ran after the yellow truck and hopped into the bed.

Cops say the domestic dispute continued in the back of the truck until, "Mr. Henry came out of the back of the vehicle."

We're told when cops arrived to the scene, Henry was still in the middle of the road, and suffering from "life threatening injuries."

According to KYPost.com (http://www.kypost.com/news/local/story/Bengals-WR-Henry-Seriously-Injured-In-Crash/B-5QfTwSv0O5ZLJBsE2-pw.cspx), Henry is believed to have suffered "severe head injuries."

Henry was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/12/1216_chris_henry_200.jpg (http://photos.tmz.com/galleries/chris_henry)We're told a crime scene unit is currently at the scene conducting an investigation.

Henry has not played for the Bengals since November, when he broke his forearm during a game.

Updating a previous item, the Charlotte Observer reports that Bengals WR Chris Henry suffered "life-threatening" injuries when he fell out of the back of a pickup truck in Charlotte (NC) Wednesday.
FOXSports' Alex Marvez reports that Henry is on life support. Bengals beat writer Joe Reedy says Henry is "believed" to have suffered head injuries before being found roadside by police. Henry "came out" of the truck during a domestic dispute with his fiancee, a Charlotte native. As Henry's fiancee was allegedly driving away in the pickup, he is said to have jumped into the bed and ultimately fell or was forced out. Henry had been in Charlotte to finalize wedding plans. Police say Henry is still alive, but the situation is dire. Dec. 16 - 6:40 pm et

Unfortunately, when you think of "dire head injuries" you probably have to think in terms of brain damage. I've seen persons who've had brain damage as a consequence of serious head injuries. I would imagine Henry's own preference would be to die rather than end up a vegetable or unable to speak anything more than unintelligible sounds.

Wow this sucks.

Heard it's under a homicide investigation. He's on life support and both families were called in to the hospital.

Not a good sign but still hoping for the best.

Hey...

we have a thread on a Bengals forum passing along our thoughts and prayers...

Knowing how many classy posters are on the Bills forum here, I thought I would pass it along if you all want to stop by and share your prayers with them.

that's what love will make you do. She's going to be met with manslaughter charges for this I'm sure, and in her anger she ended up doing something that will haunt her for the rest of her life.

it sure is a shame.... but like I said love will make people do irrational things

me too.

I had a classmate in high school who was thrown from a moving pick up truck (some moron decided to say racist to him, not knowing that Bart held most of my school's weightlifting records) Bart jumped in the guy's truck, broke the back window and was trying to choke him when the guy swerved and threw Bart. The kid was back to school in about a week.
