Shefter said he is going to take the Browns offer but wont be the HC. Just on NFL Live.

He'll be the new "Czar " of losing in Cleveland.

He had his GM responsibilities stripped in Seattle with good reason. Better them than us.

He seems to have Tom Donahoe's " I know better than the scouts " philosophy.

    Coaching is his only talent.
Anonymity is an abused privilege, abused most by people who mistake vitriol for wisdom and cynicism for wit

I didn't want him anyway. Cowher and Shanahan are better in my opinion and Grimm is growing on me.

Give me Grimm or Zimmer with a great GM. Much better than a figure head.

$50 mil for 10 years with an option to coach...holy cow.

I just don't know about Grimm. I'm up in the air about him. He doesn't have any coordinator experience and has only been an OL coach...I believe?

              To me:

Unproven = up in the air

              Just that easy.

I could care less about Holmgrem either.

But what I'd like someone to explain to me is exactly what is the love fest with Grimm all about?

I just posted the same thing...I don't see it. That being said, I'm more then willing to have somebody pursuade me as to why he is the right choice and would change things here.

His work with the Arizona offensive line has been special. He's been Cowher's right hand man for years so he needs to know a thing or two about how to run an offense, he wasn't just a offensive line coach. He was going to be the Steelers head coach after Cowher, so they all saw something in him, then i forget what happened but they shocked everyone and hired Tomlin. If he was good enough for Pittsburgh, how could he not be for us?

Also, heard a stat on radio that offensive lineman in coaching is like a catcher going to manage in baseball, they usually always work out.

I wouldn't mind Grimm but they would need to have a good GM with him and also bring in good assistants for him .
                      Impossible is Nothing.

                        the last five Bills coaches:

Wade Philips - Coordinator and HC experience
                        Gregg Williams - Coordinator
                        Mike Mularkey - Coordinator
Dick Jauron - Coordinator and HC experience
                        Perry Fewell - Coordinator

none of the five a proven winner. Stop getting retreads that never won anywhere and stop looking for the next super coach that nobody has tabbed yet. Get me a winner. Throw the house at Cowher.

Done deal...NFL Network is reporting Holmgren is the new President of the Cleveland Browns.
