According to Gibby Hamden, he called Brian Brohm the starter in his "welcome back" presser this afternoon.

WGR has reported this as well in the past half hour

and Byrd said he hasn't been 100% once this season. He estimates he's played this year at 70% and has pain running full speed and jumping all year.

cant wait to see this kid at 100% if thats the case

WOW. Awesome news on both fronts if you ask me. Imagine what another 30% Byrd can do.

Any word on how Brohm looked in practice?

Were only allowed in for 15 minutes (media)

So we might still see Fitz? Thats what Fewell just said.

Yep.
NOT CONFIRMED BY FEWELL ANYMORE

Sounds to me right now if Fitz can physically play before Sunday, he'll still start.. and Fewell will become VERYYYYYYYY unpopular

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. If Fitz can practice Friday he could start? Are you kidding me? The same guy you benched last week for Edwards?

Jesus Fewell. Why play Fitz, Brohm can not do any worse but if Brohm practices 3 days how the hell can Fitz start. That's just not good coaching.

Ive had enough of him.

he's trying to win a game and he feels Fitz gives him the better chance than Brohm.

YOu have to remember everyone here is speaking from a fan's perspective.

Dont get me wrong, I hope to hell Brohm starts.

I hope that Fewell is released Jan 4th

Sorry but Fitz doesn't give the Bills any better chance to win than a turd.

Good for Brohm. I just hope people don't expect too much out of the kid. Although, Atlanta does have a poor pass defense. As long as we give him some time, he may open some eyes on Sunday.

What the heck, in the past hour we have a recanted unconfirmed confirmation?

Read the rest of the thread. It's no longer confirmed that Brohm will start. Fitz is still Fewell's man, if healthy on Sunday.

From everything I've heard I dont think Fitz is even CLOSE to healthy.

He was taking "mental reps" today, which means he coudlnt do ****.

Fewell just wants to make it clear that if Fitz can make a quick recovery in 48 hours he'll still start.

He even said it will be a Game time decision

Yeah, exactly. I don't even know what's going on at OBD anymore. It's beyond a joke right now. This season can't end soon enough.

I really hope it's Brohm, but mostly because I don't want to re-write the Bills portion of my picks article for this week.

Fitz is on crutches and he wasn't that mobile to begin with! I can't imagine how much worse his accuracy will be with a bum leg. It's going to be like "The Longest Yard" when the OL just let the defense tee off on the QB. The only difference is that our OL is actually trying to stop the defense from coming through.

One thing for sure if we don't know who is starting Atlanta doesn't have a clue who to prepare for (if they even bother).

I got no reason to watch Sunday...No Byrd and No Brohm

Fewells guys is the same one he benched when HEALTHY, and now hes riding this horse with a bum leg. Did the leg injury make him better somehow.

Fewell, your job is toast. The best way you can get another interview is by showing the intangibles like how to handle a QB carousel. If I were a GM i would give to much to the W/L. How did he do behind the scenes? Fewell is failing.

Start Brohm, tell everyone that we are getting our young guys playing time. A jump on the off season. Fans will appreciate it and you will look like you actually have a plan even if it is for the next guy.

Quit trying to hold all the branches in your hand and not let go. You just look like a monkey doing that.

So are we going to jump down Pat's throat now since the confirmed news became unconfirmed?

I say we have fun with this. Get Owens 22 catches on Sunday. Screens. Slants. Drags. To hell with a balanced offense this week. To hell with worrying about losing.

This time of year, all lose is more bareable if caution is thrown to the win. Nothing is more depressing than losing with the same ole gameplan and mindset.

ideally, the bills fire fewell after the atlanta game. i'd like to see if this team could get any worse without any leadership. my guess is that it couldn't.

I agree that I can't wait to see Byrd at 100% and with a full off-season and training camp. Whoa boy!

As for Fewell, the decision to play Brohm shouldn't come from him. He's a lame duck and the eye should be to the future.

I think Atlanta's defensive game plan, like every other team's against the Bills, is tee off on the QB, every play, all game.

trapezeus

and the bills response, Jan, is to drop the QB back further and hold onto the ball longer.

A team with no second half adjustments is a team that's 5-11 and perpetually at the bottom of the league.

Fewell is an idiot for not getting the kid ready to play before this week. He should have had a plan to get this kid some work, he didn't and he is an idiot. If you can't see that then I guess you're the idiot.

He hasn't been able to get ready to play in two years only an idiot would think coming to this trainwreck is going to get him ready in a month.
