Bills catch indirect break in potential Cowher chase

Just one of a few things that have to happen, but potentially could be a very good start.

Re: Bills catch indirect break in potential Cowher chase

Bill Cowher has publicly said he plans on returning to coaching in 2010. Conceivably the Buffalo Bills indirectly caught a break today. The Charlotte Observer reports this afternoon that Carolina head coach John Fox, along with G.M Marty Hurney and Fox’s entire coaching staff will be offered the opportunity to return to the Panthers in 2010.
According to the report, Fox will not be offered a contract extension. 2010 is the final year of his contract and he’s due $6-million.

      it sounds exciting.

however, last night during the highlights, JB said something about how one team was being embarassed. The it goes to Cowher who says, "talk about embarassing, Buffalo gets beat 31-3 by the Falcons."

Just the way he said it pretty much sounded like he thought this was the most hopeless organization he'd ever saw.

Cowher is not coming here. There has been enough reports coming out that he wants a glamor job and this ain't it.

I honestly believe that the Bills should do WHATEVER it takes to land Cowher. Give him as much money as it takes to get him in here and start remaking this franchise. This IS the move that would turn the perception of this franchise around to both players and media. This is a PERFECT fit for what ills this organization.

Money and Power can go a long way..

Carolina was a job Cowher was STRONGLY linked too.

Of course, there is plenty, and a few places, better competition. But don't count Buffalo out, especially if Dallas keeps Phillips beyond this year, they're finally playing well in December.

Carolina and Tampa are not "glamour" jobs either.

                Neither is Chicago or Cleveland.

Washington, perhaps but they are going with Shanahan.

Dallas, absolutely for sure. But if they can finish well this year they might not have a vacancy.

Heard the same thing. It sounded like he wanted to say...."Bills lose 31-3 to the Falcons.....ouch!"

There is a report on ESPN that Jones is hinting that he will keep Phillips. If that is the case, cross them off as competition.

Agreed. We didn't catch a break at all. Our big break would have been if Carolina had fired John Fox, we would hire Fox (as Peter King has mentioned and Adam Schefter just said on SC) and then bring in a Charlie Weis as OC.

All this means is, no Shanny, no Cowher and now, kiss Fox good bye too.

I dont believe anything about Dallas until they win a playoff game.

I am soooo considering a one-week billboard campaign on my site, such as that kid did earlier with Jauron.

Hey, Bills fans are influential, they practically recruited Takeo Spikes here years ago.

And from everything we've read and/or I've heard, money is NOT an issue with our next GM/Coaching decision

Maybe he's waiting for the Houston job to open up? I dont think any coach would pass up the chance to coach that team in that city.
