Just caught a Bills blurb on the rumors page at ESPN. To avoid a TOS violation, I won't quote, but it basically said that in addition to rumors about Weis, Schotty Sr. and Martz, there are other intriguing candidates:

Schotty Jr., Haslett and Mike Nolan.

I had never really thought about Nolan, but the blurb mentioned that Nolan did a commendable job of changing Denver's 4-3 to a 3-4 in one season. They also mention that part of his failure was due to having to develop an offense with few weapons, something that he may not need to do here so long as we can figure out the QB situation. Here's the link:

Don't want Haslett, but don't have a problem with Martz and Nolan if it happened. I just want guys here who have had success. Nolan could be our HC and DC with a 3-4. Martz could help our offense, but the amount of passes in his aresenal scare me with our weather

I don't want proven rejects, i.e. Green, Haslett, and Martz. If I'm going to pick from realistic choices with blemish, here is my list:

1.) Fox
2.) Weis
3.) Garrett
4.) Nolan
5.) Billick

There you have it, Garrett is a dark horse, but he could go either way. He could sink towards the bottom of my list or he could rise to the top.

Mike Nolan? Jim Haslett? Mike Martz? **** the Bills if they hire any of those people.

No to all 3.

I'd take Weis over any of them.

1.) Fox - just 3 winning seasons in 8 years as a head coach - no thank you
2.) Weis - fair, no real success in college, but long line of success in the NFL
3.) Garrett - kills the cowboys by refusing to run the ball
4.) Nolan - no winning seasons
5.) Billick - fair, 5 winning seasons in 9 years plus a ring.

I've lost track and could use some help.

Which media-hype list is bigger? Bill's HC candidates or Tiger's mistresses?

No way to Martz, Nolan, or Haslett.. Remember what Nolan did in San Fran? Nothing.. Haslett in New Orleans, same thing... I want somebody like Russ Grimm, or for the Bills to make a push hard for someone like Cowher.. Blue Collar Team needs a Blue Collar coach!!!

I fail to see the magic in the 3-4 D, vs. the 4-3. Talent, not schemes, wins football games. Success has not been exclusively confined to 3-4 defenses through the years. Mostly, the teams with better players win.

None of those guys excite me. I wouldn't mind Nolan as the DC to switch us to a 3-4, but no way in hell do I want that guy as a HC.

Mike Nolan's failure to develop an offense would be good for Buffalo because we've got that figured out? Some of these names mentioned would make me madder than when we hired Jauron.

Nolan-Hell No
Haslett-Hell No
Brian Schottenheimer-Go to any Jets board and ask their opinion, Hell No

If any of those 3 are hired I will be finding other things to do with my Sundays.

Hiring Nolan would be like mixing the annoying pomp of Gregg Williams, the "i'm really smart" part of Mularkey, and the losing of Jauron into one person. It would pretty much guarantee that we're going another 10 year without winning.
