Bills Talking Points Week 17

Could this season drag on any longer? This is the thought process that is running through the heads of many Bills fans during these final weeks of the 2009 season. Bills owner Ralph Wilson Jr. has promised a thorough housecleaning of the football operations department, and it’s one that has been long overdue. No one knows exactly how this is going to play out, but rest assured there will be a new man roaming the sidelines for the Bills next season.

If/when Cowher gives an official pass, I would hope to see that there is a GM deal in place as soon as 1/4/10. That would mean, of course, that there have been discussions ongoing up to this point. If that GM wanted to bring in Weis as HC, and Weis could bring in Crennel as DC, I'd have a hard time complaining. I just don't see many other great possibilities out there worth pursuing, unless we want to go the coordinator route and roll the dice.

Whatever the case, I hope that the priority is on fixing both lines so that we can be competitive sooner than later.
