View Full Version : Five QBs The Bills Could Trade For in 2010

While we wait to see if any new Cowher news comes about today.

Of course selecting a stud in the first round of the draft is always an option but if you look at it rationally the Bills most likely don’t get the chance to draft Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen, the consensus top two gunslingers in this year’s college crop. Barring a bizarre finish to the NFL season this Sunday, the Bills will likely pick eighth or ninth in next April’s draft and with quarterback needy teams like St. Louis, Seattle, Oakland and Cleveland picking ahead of Buffalo, they’re unlikely to find either when on the clock.

Sure, Colt McCoy, Tony Pike and Tim Tebow among others are clearly possibilities in the first or second rounds. But the Bills have a plethora of other needs to address early in the draft, including left tackle, defensive tackle and linebacker. Maybe new management that’s now imminent doesn’t see any rookie they envision as a franchise quarterback.

That leaves the prospect of a trade. Let’s take a look at five candidates that could fit into Buffalo’s plans for a 2010 quarterback.

Out of that list, Vick is clearly the best option.

I can't believe I am saying that.

why not just list every qb so that your right no matter what happens?

Why don't you stop posting ******ed posts?

He didn't say the Bills, would or would not, trade for any of these guys. Just pointed out the top 5 that were out there in his opinion.

only one that might get me excited is bulger.

he had several solid years.

he inherited a very old but still serviceable set of wrs to start he did well.

the rams have more issues then us

i think he will resurrect his career somewhere maybe here

I think Cambpell is the best option, to be honest. He's got a great arm, and when he's given time, he's proven to be a good QB. The problem is, Washington's O-line is as bad, if not worse, than Buffalo's.

someone in the comment section mentioned Kevin Kolb.

That was a good point I should've looked more into

I was thinking about that. I think the eagles would want a high draft pick so they can grab another qb to groom for another 2-3 years when McNabb is done. I don't think Kolb will want to sit another 2-3 years.

Kolb isn't going anywhere.

McNabb would be traded before Kolb.

You also could of mentioned players like Dennis Dixon and Josh Johnson who both have limited starting experience but are blocked by either franchise players (Big Ben for Dixon) or 1st Round picks (Josh Freeman for Johnson). Both would likely cost a mid-late round pick as well.

A very nice read though overall.

Vick won't be traded.

Philly is gonna cut him.

No one is gonna pick up his ridiculous option for next season.

we might as well see if we can restore Edwards confidence, develop Brohm or see who we can draft in 2011

Without a Left Tackle the decision is almost irrelevant at this juncture

I'd take a look at Pennington, Anderson, and Campbell.

Out of the list there, Troy Smith would come at the lowest price.

Dennis Dixon might be another possibility.

Anderson is the only one I'd consider

I've seen enough of DA to know the Bills should want no part of him.

In fact, no other team should want any part of him.
