heres some info on Greason

"Geason (6-4, 270) spent the last three seasons with Steelers. He was on Pittsburgh’s practice squad in 1999 before playing in nine games (three starts) in 2000 and seven games (plus one postseason contest) in 2001. A product of Tulane, Geason also spent time with Dallas and Tampa Bay. He was released by the Steelers earlier this preseason."

thanks mike!

I don't know if this geason guy is any good. You'd think he would have caught on somewhere by now if he were.

I think one issue that bothered the Bills brass last year was the poor blocking they got from their TEs. They're keeping Jay for his receiving. Moore is a pretty decent all around TE (blocking and receiving) and Jackson may have been the best blocker among the TE's last year, but at 6'3" and 240+ he is not the road grader type TE that has become more popular. Geason at 6'4" and 270 fits that mold better. I don't know anything about him, but you've got to assume at that size he ought to have the tools to block. I expect when KG goes to two TE sets in short yardage situations, we'll see Jay on the sidelines, Moore and Geason as the bookend TEs.

If Geason can block like his size would indicate, our short yardage line has the potential to be quite good. Everyone is pretty big for their position ... even our smallest lineman, Trey Teague, is still a pretty good size for a center (6-4, 295 I think).

Does the new guy have black fingernails and a King Tut beard? If not, I want Sheldon back.

Geason was brought into to block there is no doubt about it. Look at this TD quote. "We felt good about signing him," Donahoe said. "Kevin is very familiar with him from the couple of years he was in Pittsburgh. Cory is one of the better blocking tight ends in football, and we plan to utilize him a lot in that capacity."
