Comparing this years team to previous seasons teams

After 39 games:

09/10 - 24-11-4 for 52 points
08/09 - 19-15-5 for 43 points
07/08 - 19-17-3 for 41 points
06/07 - 29-7-3 for 61 points
05/06 - 26-11-2 for 54 points

So they are basically halfway between the President's trophy year and last year. It will be interesting to see how it turns out, since 06/07 had a bad January (6-4-1) and March (9-7-1).

The '05-'06 team was my favorite team, and it was the best Sabres team post-lockout. It had a perfect mix between grit and skill. The Sabres were also the only team that year to be top 5 in both powerplay AND penalty kill.

Agreed...that team was amazing and fun to watch. The 07 team knew they were good and let it go to their head. Nothing can compare to that run the 05-06 team went through...we should have won the cup that year...if not for the injuries.
