Isn't the Cover 2 built on fast, light players? From the 1:1 with Nix, it doesn't sound like he's a fan of that. Is that the GM's decision to change the D or the new HC??

Well I guess it depends on who is hired for the DC position. I would think they are all in on that decision. But mostly the HC.

It'll primarily be a coaching decision, but most likely, Nix isn't going to hire a head coach that doesn't share his general philosophy towards building a team. If Nix wants a bigger, more physical defense, that's what they'll have.

I feel pretty confident in saying that we've seen the last of the Tampa 2 in Buffalo.

I hope so. I know the d relies on speed, but you can't use undersized players for the entire front seven and expect to win in the NFL.

Tampa had Warren Sapp. Freak athlete and not undersized.

Indy has Freeney and that S- name slips my mind at the moment.

We don't have anyone even close to that caliber of athlete.

If it isn't the GM's decision, then why did we even hire a GM? It better be his decision.

Plus Indy had Manning... something that makes any D look better. Kind of nice to allow 20+ points a game and win 80% instead of lose 60% of them.

I hope not. Do you know how hard it is to find a good/great NT for the 3-4? We do not need more teams to snatch the few up lol

How did the Steelers build a dynasty using this defense!

I love it. Now we are going to focus on big, mean players that can play in the elements.

Our current roster can't execute the Cover 2 at all, so abandon it.

4-3, 3-4..whatever..anything but the Cover 2.

there are some areas of our defense where we need a new roster no matter what they run.

I agree the cover 2 is a complete joke, and I really hope Buddy gets rid of it ASAP...I'm sure he will though.
