yep. Jets backed into the playoffs with 2 straight opponents sitting starters and heading for the bus.

bengals didn't sit their starters, benson was the only big offensive player "out".... jets controlled tempo and then bengals decided it wasn't worth it.... they could have had the 3 seed and played houston, so for them to say they "backed in" is ludicrous

If the Colts didn't pack it in last week, the Jets wouldn't be in the playoffs. Cincy had nothing to play for, and knows what it's like to lose a marquee player in such an important part of the season (Palmer, torn ACL, a few years back). No need to fight for a higher seed when they get to face the Jets at their own house next week, where they will most likely beat them by 20 anyways.

Jets got lucky they faced two teams in weeks 16 and 17 that already locked in playoff births. Houston and Pittsburgh deserved to be in the post-season over the Jets.

the jets led 10-9 with the colts starters in....... manning scores a td on a pass, miss 2 pt conversion.... jets punt and then painters in........... these guys are paid professionals, make all the excuses you want, a win is a win....

thats like saying the bills laid it down against the patriots a few weeks ago...... or the jets laid it down by letting the bills have 6 INT's back in october

No...It's not like saying that at all.

Why do you think there were protests in Indianapolis all this week, demanding refunds? Why do you think the Lucas Oil Stadium was rumbling with boos last week? Colts would have beaten the Jets 41-17 last week, had they kept all of their starters in. Just like the Colts would have beaten us today, if they left all of their starts in.

The Jets didn't let the Bills have 6 ints. They tried to beat us, but Jauron pulled a rabbit out of his ass, and out coached your boy Ryan. Jets suck.

im terms of the refunds, i agree that you didn't get your moneys worth... but hey, fans will never be happy unless they win their favorite team wins championships

ryan doesn't call the plays thats schotty....... plus sanchez made the ill advised passes..... a loss is a loss.... and they gave that game away badly, neither team wanted to win that one... won't make excuses the jets blew every game they lost, plain and simple...... but you play the game regardless of whats in your way.... oakland beat a bengals team with all their starters in just a few weeks after the jets beat them 38-0........ its the NFL, any given sunday, yada yada yada

It's asinine to say a team doesn't want to win games. Both of us wanted to win, it's just on that particular day, our QB didn't suck as much as yours. Your a Jets fan,...you should know. "You play to win the game". - Something Jim Caldwell, and Marvin Lewis didn't buy into these last 2 weeks.

the bengals had their starters in, palmer looked like crap...... ocho got hurt in warmups, all those excuses mean nothing...... now if this gets repeated next week, whats the excuse?

as far as caldwell goes, thats the teams decision.... if ya don't like it.... fine..... but they look at the big picture......

Jets backed in. You don't agree, because your a Jets fan. That's understandable. We agree to disagree.

Good times though bud. Now if you don't mind, I have to go and beat my brain senseless trying to find the 600th article about Bill Cowher possibly coming to the Bills.

thats why the jets have the #1 rushing offense..... had they been mediocre, the jets would easily be 5-11 or worse

I said nothing about the Jets rushing attack. All i know is if Sanchez plays the same way he has all year. You guys are doomed :bullseye:

keep the ball out of his hands there's nothing to fear, unless they shoot themselves in the foot

examples: big ben in the cowher farewell tour....... dilfer with the ravens...... so it can be done

jets have the best line in football.

solid backs

great defense.

god awful QB.

You can go far with a great defense and good line, even with a piss poor QB. look at what the Ravens did. Of course this Jets D isn't in the class of that Ravens team so i doubt they'll get past Cinci next week.

Can't win games if you make yourself THAT one dimensional
But, Congrats on the playoff spot.

Jet's looked very dominant against the Bengals.

however, historically, when teams play again in the playoffs (as non-divisional teams) the winner of the regular season tends to be the loser in the postseason game.

i don't have the stats, i'm just thinking Bills Houston...Giants/Patriots, Bills Giants in 91 and a couple other games in the last couple season where that has happened.

Obviously that's a useless stat, but one none the less.

I would like the bengals to win on Saturday.
