is this a good thing or a bad thing pat? is he bringing in cowher, or is he not going to get pushed around with a slow decider in cowher.

If you must break our hearts, please do so gently.

Please expand... is there more besides firing EVERYONE on coaching staff? Or will there be today?

I can hardly wait.
I am guessing two things gone will be a new strength and conditioning coach position will open up and Modrak is gone. Modrak leaving would make a statement.
Thanks Pat for always providing us the info.

Pat,

Any heads up for us, or tidbits you can share NOW.

I can not wait for the new decade baby, hopefully Nix gets this thing turned around.

I do not think a Miami situation like last year is in the works but 2011 season (if one happens) could be the time for us to get back to relevance.

I hate to make a point to remind you all that I'm friends with "Juice" (who's banned for a month)...but this is a lame thread.

Either give info or don't post. Of course crazy stuff is going to happen today, its Black Monday and our team was horrible. That's why there is like 300 of us online!

No it was not a given crazy stuff was going to happen today. This is not typical Bills.

trapezeus

seriously, by bills standards the last 10 years. they do nothing. It's just a bunch of boring interviews with players who suck and say the same things. "we want to win for this town, but for some reason stuff didn't work out." and then jauron or mularkey give some comments on Tuesday Wednesday. Then the following week we hear some slow leaks about DC's and OC's from playoff teams that we might look at.

We have to wait for those teams to lose. but inevitably we have one coach from the SUperbowl teams that we want to interview which means we lose the other possible coaches, we realize we don't want the Superbowl team OC or DC as coach and then pick up a retread.

They are forced to keep a handful of leftovers.

This is very different and if pat is saying there is potentially more news, i'd be excited to hear cowher signing today.

plus this is a fan board during one of the crappiest seasons. If only for the fun of drumming up cowher excitement, this was the best day over the last 16 weeks here and absolutely nothing has happened.

Pat Moran = **** tease.

I'm guessing firing the entire staff is most or all of it.

I apologize, let me elaborate a little.

What I meant initially was that he fired the entire coaching staff before noon on Monday.

But to expand a little more, there are other names starting to emerge, such as Frazier (that you've now heard about it)

And I know what Adam Schefter said, and I know he has an impeccable repuation, but I do not buy that Cowher is done. I do know the BIlls are legimiately interested in him, not just hearsay, and from at least the person I spoke too, Cowher has NOT told the Bills that he would not be returning to coaching this season.

Now that doesnt mean Cowher isnt returning or didnt say that, it means that if so, he hasn't told the Buffalo Bills that.

And I think John Guy is going to get the boot, but POSSIBLY, Tom Modrak stays

I think Pat is just speculating because today, and probably most of the week will be crazy with news stories coming out.... aka he's telling us something that is obvious. Anyone who expected today or this week to be quiet isn't a Bills fan.

patmoran2006
01-04-2010, 11:53 AM
OH, and one other thing.

Perry Fewell was furious with Marshawn Lynch at halftime for a lack of effort on the Bills third drive Sunday, a player told me.

Its why he didnt see a carry the rest of the game, and why McIntyre was running the ball at the end.. Lynch, except for a play where Jackson got the ball anyway, was benched.

I think Cowher will deny anything and everything until things are 'said and done' and his future has been decided. He's just being professional by denying everything. For Schefter or anyone else to say he isn't going to coach - they're probably just basing it on the fact that Cowher won't admit to anything, and won't say he wants to coach or is interested in anything. Cowher isn't going to burn any bridges, leaving Shefter and others to speculate based on their own feelings and opinions.

I don't blame Modrak. We've still had SOME good picks. I don't want to underestimate how bad Jauron was and how much say he had.

Other than Maybin the draft this year was great.

If we can't get rid of both, at least Guy is gone.

You cant blame him for two physical bonehead plays.

Then again, maybe you're right, you can.. Especially McKelvin. He should've been instructed to NOT take the ball out of the end zone.

With all the news today...it is not making me any happier with the Nix hire. If Modrak stays, then it better be because Cowher accepted the HC job and wanted Modrak to stay. Other then that...it just shows that Nix was "the football man" put in the GM position to appease the fan base.

We've had quite a few tidbits over the last little while that have told us that Modrak hasn't actually had much say in who was picked. If he stays, then you would have to think that is true. It also means that the 'misses' haven't been his explicit fault.
If anyone is in a position to know how well Modrak does his job, it is Nix, after all it's part of what he's been doing for his entire NFL career. If Nix wants to keep Modrak, I'm prepared to believe it's the right move.
