Billick will be our next coach

If Cowher doesn't take the job (which I don't think he will), Billick will be the choice. Nix said he wants a coach with experience. None of the coordinators we are supposedly interested in meet that criteria.

If they want experience then it will have to be Billick or Shottzy.

Also, something that Nix said in his press conference struck me when asked the question about a name coach coming to Buffalo to rebuild. He said that "yes, I think we can land one...some of them have egos and like the opportunity to build up a team." What coach out there has a bigger ego then Billick???

I still haven't seen any clarification on what Nix meant by 'experienced'. NFL experience? College? CFL? Any level?

He would need to get interviewed first.

He also said that it gave them an advantage. I don't remember him saying that they HAD to have previous HC experience. That being said, I think the coaches with HC exp are all at the top of the list.

billick seems to be the one who wants to coach. the others are 'meh" and that could be a problem

Billick took the Baltimore job when they were terrible.

and then the one of the best defenses in NFL history took him to the superbowl...

he spent the rest of his time in Baltimore unable to build an offense or find a QB....

yeah... sounds like the perfect coach for us.

Got to give him some credit

He did hire one of the most amazing defensive staffs ever and then once he saw that the defense was dominant he molded his offensive game plan to fit it.

He does have his faults but if there is one major positive about him its he can spot talent and hire them to his staff

As an offensive guy... why was he never able to assemble an offense? He even hired Fassel... his best friend for 2 years... and then fired him and decided to call plays himself.... he was fired a year after that.

I think people are giving him way too much credit because he was handed an incredible defense that carried him to a superbowl.

I spent 1/2 my life in Baltimore.. and was thrilled when he was finally fired. Now I'll be sick to my stomach if Buffalo brings him in.

Then there is an upside !

The year Fassel got fired and Billick took over the playcalling.. the Ravens finished 13-3. They lost in the playoffs to the Colts, who won the SB.

Handed an incredible D... What a load. You could say the same about Gruden in Tampa. You could say Dungy was handed an incredible O in Indy. Shanahan was handed Elway and hasn't won jack since. Does this mean they're all overrated SB winning coaches ? I'm sensing a pattern.

Who cares who get's the credit ? Surround yourself with quality asst's, draft/sign some key players and they can give the credit to whoever. Just win.. and all these guys know how.
